Urinary tract infection? Uterus leaning on blatter @ 15 weeks? / Open forum

Hi.  Sorry to use up a post, please use as an open forum.  I just was wondering if I was the only one going thought this.  I feel that my urges to urinate are more frequent then ever but when I "go" hardly anything comes out.  Drops! Other than that, there is no irritation or burning or anything like that.  It's just an urge to go about every hour but then nothing comes out.  Anyone else going through this?  Could my uterus/baby be leaning on my blatter already? I'm only 15 weeks.  Btw, in case anyone has been following my post (I post often because I'm a worried wart, sorry!) My tummy is growing. I'm starting to look prego.  Better tell the co-workers.

Thanks

No pain (only a sore belly when I wake up at night and my blatter is FULL to capacity) and no funny smell.  It's just such a strange sensation to have to go, then there be nothing there.

not to scare you but sometimes you can have a cyst on your ovary and that is next to your bladder which could cause what you are having.  I would call the Dr.  They would need to give you a U/S to see what is there.

I would notice the same thing sometimes when I would hold it in for too long, and then for the next couple days I would have to pee all the time and when I did nothing would come out.  I never had an infection, though, definitely check with your doctor if there's burning or pain.  But my advice definitely is to go when you have to go!

I had the infection 6 months ago and the sympthoms were: going to the bathroom literally every 4-5 minutes, there was blood in the urine and a lot of pain and discomfort. So I don't think you have that. Now I'm 11 weeks and I go to the bathroom at least 7-8 times per day, but I also drink one gallon of water/day. For some reason I'm constantly thirsty, so don't worry it's not only you.

One of the basics of pregnancy, even earlier than 15 weeks, is that you have to pee pretty much all the time, and when you do almost nothing comes out.  The uterus does sit on the bladder, even early on, and while the baby isn't so big, the uterus itself is getting bigger.  Makes the bladder feel as though it is full. Check out some of the drawings you can find online of pregnancy at various time points (cross section of baby in uterus and uterus in body).  They are very interesting, showing the location of the uterus in relation to the bladder and to the stomach.

Are you having any pain or really smelly pee?

My bladder is always feeling full. Right from the start of my pregnancy I have been having to go to the toilet ALOT.

Now at 21 weeks 5 days, I feel like I shouldn't even bother getting up from the Loo.

It is normal to pee alot, so don't necessarily think you have an infection. But if you are worried, then ask your doctor to do some testing as an infection can be dangerous for the baby. But oyu sound fine though.

Hi
I'm new to this board.  I just stumbled upon this and wanted to add my 2 cents.  I really do not want to scare you, but I had a similar problem at 15 weeks of pregnancy and it lasted my whole pregnancy.  At about 15 weeks I ended up in the ER because I could not urinate at all.  I was getting chills and in pain.  I did not have a uti either (they tested me for that).  They did an U/S, but couldn't find anything wrong other than my bladder was so full that they were surprised urine didn't back up into my kidneys or something.  I ended up with a foley catheter and a leg bag to catch the urine until I was able to get to a Urologist.  That was not a fun experience.  I hope I never have to go through that again.

My OB/GYN and Urologist could not figure out what was going on with me.  The Urologist suggested I go on Flomax (the male prostate medication) because it relaxes the muscles to let the urine out.  It worked!  I took it for the rest of my pregnancy and I had a healthy and happy baby.  Six weeks postpartum my bladder problem cleared up on it's own.  To this day my doctors are still baffled on what caused it.  My doctors told me the urinary retention I had was very rare, but I justed wanted to let you know, so that if that happens to you might have some idea what to do.  I was so freaked out when I had this.  I turned to the internet and could not find anything but possible MS or an incarcerated uterus.  I just couldn't find any answers or people who had the same problem.

Thanks,
Bec2
