VERY early teething??

Is it possible for a 6 week old to be teething already??  For the last couple of weeks I have noticed 2 tiny white bumps getting more noticable on her bottom gum.  I hadn't actually felt anything unusual until today.  When I put my finger in there to check on them, I felt something much harder and more "jagged" for lack of a better word.  It really did feel like a tooth popping through.  Is this possible or is it something else?  I don't remember my older daughter having anything like this and she didn't even get her first tooth until she was 11 months!

My nephew got his first tooth when he was close to 3 months old and that was the earliest I'd ever seen a baby get a tooth!

I have read it's even possible for children to be born w/teeth, but not common.

my daughter is 3 months old and I think she'll be getting her first tooth anyday.  She's been showing all the signs of teething for a few weeks now, drooling, chewing on her fist, and being fussy,  I guess every baby's different

Do you see the white tooth buds?  That is how you can really tell.  If the gums are just pink then probably not.  DD just got 2 teeth in two weeks and I can see more white buds about to erupt on the bottom.  Oh God I am in for more nights lack of sleep LOL!

Signs and symptoms of teething can last for weeks!!!  Never heard of babies getting their first pearly whites so early in life.  If yours does, let us know ;)  I think what kellym is talking about is "false" two bottom teeth that some babies are born with.  They're not real teeth and do fall out eventually to make way for the "real" baby teeth.
