Vanishing Twin Syndrome

Just wondering if anyone out there has had VTS (vanishing twin syndrome) and went on to have a normal single pregnancy afterward. I'm 10 wks pregnant and we just found out one of the twins I was carrying has no cardiac action anymore and that my body is absorbing it. The other twin's heartbeat is 175 bpm and was moving a lot on the last ultrasound I had. My doc seems to think it will be fine and I won't lose this one. It was very sad to lose the one baby and I couldn't bear to lose this baby too. We had to use Clomid to get pregnant as I wasn't ovulating. What are your thoughts? I just need some of your stories, thoughts, and some hope maybe?

I have had VTS but a very close friend of mine did. She did go on to have a very healthy little boy, but remnants of the twin were delivered. The twin died sometime around 12 weeks and she did have some bleeding. Everything else went fine. Blessings to your baby and I'm sorry about the loss of one of them!

My first pregnancy started out as twins.  At about 8 weeks I started to bleed and cramp, and at 11 weeks it was confirmed by u/s that one of the embryos had faded, right about at 8 1/2 weeks pregnant.  But the other one did fine.  We used to call him Little 163 for his constant heartbeat (of 163 beats per minute).  I could always find him with my home doppler, and I will tell you, I looked for him about every other day for the rest of the pregnancy.  If you'd like to see his picture, click on my user name.
