Vasectomy

Hi all,
Been a long time since I asked a question but I have one.......it is about vasectomy though and not pregnancy, hope no one minds.
Who was it that their dh had a vasectomy?
My question is 'did his sex drive go WAY up'????
Dh had his done about 2 1/2 weeks ago and that is basically all he wants to do. And that was after only about 3 days......gosh, don't they need some sort of healing time or something? lol
I'm 9+ months pregnant and dilated so sex is actually the LAST thing on my mind right now.
Just wondering if this is normal and if it will last.

As of Friday I was:
Dilated to a 1
50% effaced
Cervix soft
Cervix postier (sp?)
Baby still at a -3/-4 station

Contractions not bad or regular yet so just waiting it out. Could be anytime or he could hold out until his due date which is 17 Oct...hopefully he doesn't decide to go past that!!!

Dh is working nights now and is about 40 minutes away so I will end up trying to drive myself (and my 16 month old....and my 10 year old) to the hospital if it happens at night.......wish me luck with that one.........ROFL

Yes, Cinnimonheart's husband had it done and she did get preggo.  
Now, as far as his sex drive.  Maybe he knows there is supposed to be no chance of you becoming preggo (b/c you are, but in the future) so maybe he feels he can have a free for all with no "consequences" for lack of a better word.  Actually, he sounds like my DH ALL the time.

Maybe he is just trying to see if everything works like it used to?  You sound like you are pretty close to having your baby.  Maybe he knows that after you have your baby, you're supposed to wait 6 weeks, and maybe the thought of those 6 weeks is just killin' him??  Just a thought.

I agree. It is probably the psychological "freedom" that comes with having sex without having to worry. I know, you are obviously pregnant, but you know what I mean.

Just make sure he goes in for his checks. Any man I have known who has gone in for all required checks has stay "fixed",lol. No sneaky swimmers. My mom apparently tried to pull the "it didn't work" with my dad, little did she know he had been getting checked and had no swimmers. Between the two of them, their unfaithfulness led to the demise of their marriage very quickly (my real parents were only married for 5 years, together for 9 total) In that time my dad had 5 kids, only 2 of them were with my mom, lol. Then again, ym mom got pg with three kids (actually she had a few m/c as well) and only 2 of them were my dad's.

Given medicine today, it is more than 99% effective. Have him keep getting checked. You don't want any sneaking through,lol!

Yes it was my dh who had the vasectomy and YES i got pregnant
Mistake #1 dh NEVER took his sample in and 2.5 years later we Have a little Cody!!
Definetly take a sample in!!

As for his sex drive  I think after the procedure he did want it more for a while, I think partly cause he wanted to see if it still worked!!! In case something had gone wrong...LOL
To prove he was still a man!! (you know men!!)
But that has dwindled down now!
Yes tell him to leave you alone 9 months plus!!
Hope all works out for you and how is Talon? 16 months?
I thought you were a crazy women when you told me about being pregnant again but Mine were 18 months apart so I guess Im  just as crazy!!! Good luck to you!

Dh seems to wake up hard and go to bed hard (TMI I know, sorry) He was never like that and some old timer at the VA hospital yesterday told me that a vasectomy will totally change our sex life.....his words (and again TMI, more than I wanted to hear from an 80+ man) "he will 'get' you in the morning and then he will 'get' you again at night".......I laughed but it actually was TMI.
Anywho, yes he will be going back to give a sample in December so we will have to be careful before then (after my 6 weeks of course)

Yes, Talon is 16 months and a monster if I've ever seen one.....I have no idea how I'm going to do it!!! NONE!!! And mostly alone since dh is now working nights and will be clearing from the Army in the daytime in another week or so. He will be either gone or sleeping MOST of the time for awhile. And then if he goes back overseas as a civilian, wow, I will be totally alone then. We do what we gotta do though.
Cinn, at 18 months apart, how did you manage? I'm sure there are others on here with ***** that close together, and any imput would be great. I will be breastfeeding Wyatt and I know how much time that takes up, what the heck am I going to do with Talon? He is climbing now......all the way up on the table within seconds......And I have no way to keep him in just the livingroom with me (open floor plan with a round a bout and all the openings are really, really wide).
HELP!!!
I have no friends here to help out and my mom only comes about once a month and only for a few hours at a time....I'm sure I'll manage fine but any advice would be great.
Sorry Cinn, I must have missed your post to me before. Most of the time I only get to check the site once a day and I usually don't go back and reread a post that I've already read or posted on. This one I did of course because it was MY question...lol
Well, I better run before dh gets up and wants his nightly coffee......him working nights sucks.....well, sort of, I do get the bed all to myself now and I don't have him there telling me to stop tossing and turning......lol

Looking back I dont know!
I guess you just manage somehow!
Just like when you make less money you manage,
I can remember going back to work (maternity was 6 months then)
and I only worked for home nursing  I had only a 2 hour shift that day so here I was a baby in a carrier on on my hip  carrying them down to the end of the laneway (since it was full of good ole Canada snow!!) Shoveled the car out to go to work I thought am I nuts!!

Oh, yes. John definitely qualifies as one of my boys ; ) We adopted another boy last week, the four legged variety who seems to think I am his Momma, too! So make that 4 boys I have already ; )

Andi, I saw on a different post that you have already figured that your next will be another boy.....Never know, it's a 50/50 shot you know!! I wish a girl for you but if it's another boy I know you will be just as happy. I knew this one was a boy before my u/s....I just had that feeling and sure enough. But it only took me about 3 seconds to know that it didn't matter. As some of the girls on here said, no hormones, no boyfriends and no weddings to pay for.....what a plus on all three counts. Jeff is only 10 and has had his first 'girlfriend'.....lasted about a month I think, but you know how it is at that age. I just can't remember having a 'boyfriend' in the 5th grade. 6th and 7th, yes, but not the 5th. Thank goodness kids at that age are never  alone, can you imagine a girl getting prego at 11?!?! I mean, I know that it DOES happen (probably more than I know) but I'm sure not ready to be a grandma, holy cow!!! One of the guys that John works with had his first baby at 13.......OMG 13 years old.....and it was with the babysitter of all people!!!!!! She was a few years older, maybe like 16 or so but........WOW!!

Stacie, his name is going to be Wyatt Xander.....we already have Talon Zane-Xavier so I don't think we've missed too many letters in the alphabet (sp?).........ROFL....Of course, had he been a girl we would have gone with Mya Azurede so we still would have hit most of the letters....lol.

I remember since this was a suprise(thoughts went through my head I dont want another baby) but as soon as i seen the little peanut shape on the screen I was done!!

Cant imagine having a baby at 13 Holy ****~ A friend of mine from work is 39 and a grandma!! OUCH

There was a show on tv about pre teen stuff so I called my dd(10_) down to watch it was talking some "sex talk and questions'
She says I dont need to watch it MOm I already had sex!

I love that name!!! Was going to name Conner Wyatt but his daddy was having none of that so he is Conner instead. Congrats and you are right- girls are a pain in the neck. Mine is 10 and driving me insane- I swear she makes me crazier by the day. LOL

My hubby jokes that he got rid of all the girls before we got married,lol. I just know that if i set myself up for a boy, than I won't be disappointed,lol.
