Vertigo

Anyone out there ever had vertigo while pregnant?? I was just diagnosed with begnign paroxsymal positional vertigo.  Between morning sickness and the vertigo life is pretty miserable.  Anyone know of better treatments?? All I had done was my head tilted around a few times at the RX office I think it is called the Epley maneuver anyways, that did nothing for me.

Your dizziness maybe due to lying on your back.  This puts pressure on a large vein called the vena cava which reduces blood flow back to your heart, brain, lungs and baby.  Often this can cause transient spells of dizziness.  Try to sleep in other positions although this can take some getting used to.

An effective cure for morning sickness is Pyridoxine (Vitamin B6) 25mg and Doxylamine (OTC Unisom)25mg taken together up to 3 times a day. This preparation is widely available in europe and asia, however is not available as a pre-combined supplement here in the U.S.

Also avoid fatty, spicy or strong foods.  Eat high protein snacks and keep some crackers by the bedside for the munchies.

I had vertigo 1X  I was 38 weeks preggo and got so sick I had to be hospitalized.  I couldn't walk cause everything spun and if I opened my eyes or talked I threw up!
