Virus

Virus

Okay, I think I know what my 2 year old daughter has, because my other daughter has had the same thing before, and I took her to doc and he said it was viral.
Symtoms (symptoms)
Fever over weekend with no other symtoms (symptoms).
This morning she woke up with red spots all over her back and stomach and chest.  Not on legs or arms or face.
What I am remembering is my other daughter had a virus, and the doc said that the virus causes these spots after the fever goes away.
I know antibotics does nothing for this, so I don't feel there is any reason to take her in as her fever is gone, and she is eatting and drinking.
These aren't chicken pox, I know that.  I am 90% sure this is caused by a virus, but I just want to MAKE for sure.  Anybody had this with their kids before.
The spots aren't raised and do not itch.  They aren't patickei (ms)

my daughter had the same thing after a savare fever i was told that they were due to the heat trapped in her body from the fever. they were fine little red spots but they disappeared within a day or two. Hope this helps you.

nevermind, I was right.  Actually found it on the internet just now.  I am copying it onto here just in case another mother would like to know why their child broke out in red spots after having a fever, now remember these arent' raised, they don't have white centers.

here is what I found for everyones 411.

Viral illness – the most common rash suddenly appearing on your child is rash due to a variety of viruses. Some viruses can be easily identified, including chicken pox, fifth disease, and roseola. Most viruses, however, do not cause their own specific type of rash as chicken pox does. These generic viral rashes can have many different appearances, such as lacy or pimply, raised or flat, bumps, spots, or blotches, and they often (but not always) start on the trunk, and then spread to the extremities.
The most important thing to understand here is that if your child has a fever or is not feeling well, and breaks out in one of these generic rashes, then it is probably a harmless virus and nothing to worry about.

I gotta say 5 years ago when my first daughter got this, I ran to the doc to find out what was going on.  The things we learn after being mothers.  Nice to know more now so it keeps us out of the docs office for no reason.

Thanks for your help.  I guess I was pretty sure and wasn't really worried, but I didn't want to be so unworried just in case I could be wrong...........hehehe
funny how now that i'm not a new mom anymore that i don't jump up so fast to go to the doc.  first child seems like i was always at the docs office.  hehehehe
