Oh God, I was taking Vistaril before my pregnancy. I did not find out I was pregnant until my 7th week. The previous week I was taking it about once every 2 days. Now I go online and it says it can be harmful to the baby if taken in the 1st trimester.
If I hurt my baby, I will die, since I read this stuff I can't even sleep. What should I do? In the Dr.s office I wrote on the paper the previous medications, and I wrote Vistaril. My dr. never mentioned anything. Guys what do I do? If I hurt my aby in any way I will die
first of all try to calm down. i don't know what vistarel is, but i'm sure if you ask your dr. about it he'll be able to ease your mind. sometimes medications say don't take when pregnant...and sometimes just being extraExtra strength mylanta calci tabs Extra strength pain relief careful or sometimes not as big a problem as they say. i took a medication in order to help ovulation (letrazole/femara) and it says on it do not take if pregnant - use for postmenopausal womenWomen's way. the pharmacist didn't want to release b/c said not good to be in system if trying to get pregnant. dr. said he uses it as off label - used for a long time and it's fine. sometimes drug co. don't know what drs. do. i would say ask your dr. i'm sure everything will be okay. let me know.
i know when i was about 17wks with my last preg. the dr. prescribed vistaril for early contractions. i know that it was well past my 1st trimester, but i took it quite a bit. i had a lot of early labor. my dd is now 18months old and perfect. smart as a whip and no physical problems. the only thing was i had to drink A LOT of water because it dried me out soooo bad.
again, i know i was well past my 1st trimester, but i'm sure the studies they showed were EXTREME studies.
good luck to you and your little one.
Rats had some abnormalities, but at very high dosages, way higher than the norm for humans
