Vitamins

I am currently 18 weeks preg and i absolutly hate the prenatals I am  on.  I have tried several and they have all made me sick and constipated.  I have heard a little about taking flintstone vitamins and and extra folic acid  and that is okay instead.  Anyone know anything about this???:-)

I heard the same thing.  When I was pregnant I don't think I pooped for nine months on the prenatal vitamins they gave me.  If I get pregnant again I also plan to go this route.  I think you are supposed to get at least 400 mcg a day of folic acid and the flinstones don't meet that requirement so you would have to supplament.  Good Luck!

I take the GNC prenatal vitamins and they never make me sick or constipated. Could be just me though, I'm not sure. With my past pregnancies I took the ones they prescribed and I got very sick. So I think it's the vitamins!

My doctor told me to chew 2 flinstone vitamins at a time each day. He is a high risk doctor and says that is all you need.
