Waiting until the positive OPK to BD

Waiting until the positive OPK to BD

Hi!  Last month I tried to conceive and was BDing every other day since day 8!

Well, I think we BDed TOO MUCH!  Because I didn't get pregnant....even though we had sex around the positive OPK, my husband was getting really worn out and I think we used up his sperm and that's why we didn't get pregnant.

I'm waiting to have sex until the day I get a positive OPK and then do it that day and then the next two days or so.

What is your opinion, ladies?  Do you think I'm right?  That we may have had too much sex and that's why we didn't conceive?  Because I became pregnant very easily this summer but miscarried.

Thanks

Allie, that's exactly what I did the month I got pregnant!  Once I got the +, I BD that night (wed) and the next night (thurs) and that was it!  I conceived on that Friday!  I really think that they stuck this time because there was more of a concentration of stuff, etc.  Every month before that we bd every other day for two weeks after AF.  IT SUCKED and no one was happy!  Good luck!

I wondered this about myself this last month when I didn't conceive. We BD every other day the week prior to O day, then twice the day before O. THEN he could barely do it the day OF O. So---I was wondering the same thing--would it have been better to do it more often just around the 3 peak days?
I think that is what we will try next time.
I know sperm is supposed to live for two-three days though, so it seems like it still should have worked.
Who knows...

Allie, I got pregnant 3 times using that method- 1st try with pregnancies #1 & 2 and 2nd try for pregnancy #3. DH and I would BD the day of the surge and for the next 3 or 4 days following.  The other thing that I did along with OPK was to keep my legs/hips elevated for a good 15 minutes or so (looked pretty silly, I know) and after that, I tried to not even get out of bed for as long as I could so that all the spermies stayed in place. I've read that all of that isn't necessary but it worked for me! Good luck and lots of baby dust****************************

Thanks everyone!  Cutiemama and Low, thank you for your tips!  I think this is what I needed to do.

Jenny, that HAS to be why we didn't conceive last month.  My husband was just like yours, he could barely DO IT when I was probably ovulating because we'd been having sex soo much...  So, I think it might happen for us this time if I wait until positive OPK.  :)

Come to think of it, that's what happened when I got pregnant last summer. We had sex excactly two weeks after my period came....and we had sex once...  sure enough, I was pregnant.  So hopefully, it will happen again.
