Was it too early to test?

My period is now 5 days late, but i had intercourse 2 days before my period was to start, I usually have regular periods. I took a test today, being 7 days after intercourse and it was negative, does this mean I am not pregnant? Or is it still too soon to take the test? I have another test and I will take it again in a few days, but any help on when I should test and why my period is late if I am not pregnant?

i'm not sure exactly but im almost sure its something like 16 (give or take a few) days after unprotected intercourse so it prob will be too early to test x

its not likely that you would have gotten pregnant 2 days before your missed period. there could be a number of reasons as to why your periods late
