ohhh, he's soooo cute!
congratulations
i think that is so cool how they can do the ultrasound in 3d now. we still don't have that kind of ultrasound here in kamloops, it's a fairly small city.

I know Christie. It wasnt available when I had my last son who is now only 2. Amazing watching him move...I had to search a long time to find someone near me who did the 3d u/s. In a few years Im sure they will be available to a lot more mommies and daddies

What great pictures!  I had the 3-D ultrasound, but my pictures weren't nearly as good!  My little guy doesn't like to perform for the camera either.  He always covers his face.  For the 21 week ultrasound when we wanted to know his sex, he had his legs clamped shut, and his hands over his face.  When he finally opened up his legs, he covered his genitals with his hands!  Luckily the technician was great, and kept going until we could finally see he was a boy!

Your little man looks like he enjoys the spotlight.  I love the yawn!!

This was posted way down and I figured you didnt see it...Way down in the posts now..

actually I hope I go a little early. Im a stay at home mom..and times goes slowly. I am attending college but have had to take this and last semester off. I will go back in the spring. I am going to be a teacher also (elementary) or possibly preschool. Not usre yet. Im a late one, allready 29 years old and just started going. I just hope it doesnt take me 7 or 8 years to finish.

As far as labor signs, all I have are a lot of Braxton hicks. Sometimes they get into a regular pattern for a couple of hours but then they taper off. I havent been checked yet, Im sure I will be next Thursday at my 37 wk appointment...

Well since you want to wait I hope the little bean hangs in there for a while longer...I hope mine gets impatient and comes out...Keep me posted on your progress..BTW do you know what you are having? and also any names? Im having my third boy and his name will be Ashton Jacob.

I'm having a little boy.  The name question is a long story.  I think my husband and I have decided on Derek Alexander.  We haven't told our friends and family.  We've had other names picked out, but were flooded with opinions!

I love the name Ashton.  Actually one of our cats is named Ashton.

Well we just finnally decided on the middle name about 5 days ago. We couldnt agree on one at all. Our other two boys had names picked out by the time I knew what they were....Some ppl wait until they deliver to decide on a name...I like the name you have chosen. So Im naming my son after a cat huh..lol. Just kidding.

I debated whether or not to tell you that I have a cat named Ashton.  I wasn't sure if you would find it insulting.  Our cats are our babies too.  I've given them all human names.  In fact, I have been sorry that I used them up on my cats.  They are Tyler, Ashton, and Abby.

We just had my aunts over for dinner tonight, and they were trying to pin us down on names.  They wanted to know if it was going to be Matthew (one of our previous choices), and I just said we weren't sure.  The truth is we may change our minds when we see him, but I think it is going to be Derek.

I wasnt offended at all. I actually named my cat Kelly which is a girls name I like a lot.  And my dog was Savannah...So its not unusual for ppl to name their animals people names..

I wasnt offended at all. At least I know it is a good name. Always wonder if ppl like the unusual names that are chosen. I have a feeling that Ashton wont stay unusual though. Growing in popularity..

So, you have a cat also?  Should I be at all concerned about my cats with the baby?  I have a sister-in-law who is always telling me that I need to be very careful.  I don't think my cats will bother my baby.  If anything, I think they'll avoid the baby.  It is just going to be difficult to keep them out of the baby's things when he isn't in them.  Any advice on your previous experience?

My cat never bothered any of my kids. In fact she kept her distance. The only thing I would keep on eye on is a cats tendency to want to cuddle up to something warm and cozy (baby sleeping) Because they could accidently suffocate the baby if they layed wrong. But I never did run into that problem either. They have like tents you can put over a crib for added security.  Personally I never had any problems, cats usually keep their distance from anything that can pull and tug on them really hard.

WOW, totally cool pictures!!  :)

I have always had cats and have never had a problem with them being a hazard to my babies.  I did worry about toxoplasmosis a little, but mine have always been out-side cats, no litter boxes.  The litter box creates the biggest risk for that.  Cats are pretty aloof and somewhat particular about whom they will get their "loving" from.  But, cat hair in an empty crib has been an issue in the past.  I think the tent idea, or even a blanket to cover the crib when not in use is a good idea.  But, as often as we mothers check on our newborns while they are sleeping and as careful as we are about who and what is in their immediate surroundings, the cats don't stand a chance. LOL.  As soon as my babies come home, I am plugging electrical sockets, like they are going to crawl out of the crib at 3 days old and stick a fork into one of them...LOL  Can you say "over-cautious and paranoid"??

Regards, :)

I also have 2 cats and had no problem.  I had heard that because of the smell of milk on a baby's breath, the cat might try to suck their mouth and suck their air out.  Never happened!  In caution, I bought a port-a-crib that had a bassinet in the top and a tent cover.  That way I could zip the front when the baby slept and the cats couldn't get in there.  When I put her in her regular crib, I just kept the door closed.
However, twice now, my non-friendly cat has bitten her.  Even if she just tried to pet him gently (she is 2 now and understands about being gentle)he would snap at her because he can't stand her.  He only had teeth in contact with skin twice.  So be careful if any of your cats are less than friendly with little people.

I have 2 cats and one of them doesnt mess with my 14 month old. But the white one every night meows and purrs along side of the bars and jumps into the crib with nathan and I have once caught him on top of him. Nathan always wakes up screaming and the cat jumps like 2 feet when he see's one of us jump out of the bed. I am about to kill this cat of he doesnt back off! We had to lock them both up in the bathroom last night because of this and the other cat hasnt done anything, but I cant keep them both from the food and litter.
It is driving me  nuts and I cant keep him out of the crib, he knows not to do it because when I catch him around nap time or if I can't sleep at night he runs real fast before he hops in and I can't catch him. I have rubbed his nose in the crib and told him no as well and I am about to loose it. Now if we have another baby and this is going to be a problem I guess I will have to get rid of that one!
Any ideas?

Have you tried one of those crib tents?  I've heard they help, although I can't speak from experience.
