Weird Bleeding and Symptoms,May be pregnant or MIscarriage PLEASE HELP!!!!

by Amanda853, Oct 29, 2009 07:26PM
Hi everybody, my name is Amanda and whats been happening to me this whole month is what been driving me crazy....

For the past 7 months, I have been taking Ortho Tri Cyclen lo. And i get my period every 4 weeks. It narmally comes on a Wednesday and stops on Monday.  On Saturday, (09/26/09) me and my man were having sex. 2:00 a.m Sunday Morning, i noticed light red spotting and it continued through to Monday then it got heavier and became my period and lasted to Friday. Around 1 week after that , is when I started having these symptoms: Nipple tenderness, increased discharge, extreme nausea, dizziness (worsens if i dont eat alot of food), bad lower back pains, stomach cramps but worse on my left side, headaches, weird vivid dreams, constipation, and  gas all day. I was for sure that i was pregnant so i stopped taking my birth control on Wednesday (10/21/09) without finishing the pack (i was suppose to stop that following Saturday leaving me with 3 active pills that i missed). Normally when i stop taking the pills, i have my period exactly 4 days later and it starts out really heavy with clots the first two days then get lighter. But this Monday (5 days after i skipped the pills) I had very very light brown spotting that faded everytime i wiped and when i went to sleep the spotting stopped. But when i woke up on Tuesday, it was heavy bleeding with small clots,  i had bad back pain, slight stomach cramps, and bad head ache for a couple hours. I went to the doctor and she checked my cervix and didnt notice anything abnormal and said that it was just my period and left before i can get a blood pregnancy test.(But the doctor was being really rude and rushing me and since i was bleeding while she was checking my cervix, i dont think that she could really tell). That night (Tuesday) it went back to brown spotting. But i woke up on Wednesday and it was heavy again, i had the cramps back and it was clots but my breast tendernous stopped and i didnt feel as nauseous. So i was for sure that i may be having a miscarriage. But the strange thing is, Wednesday night, the bleeding got light red and my breast tenderness came back and i was nauseous again. But when i woke up this morning (Thursday)it was heavy again. So i went to the doctor today and finally did the blood pregnancy test. I did the Urine test which was negative, but everyone i know that took the urine test got negative results and found out months later that they were actually pregnant. I have to go back on Monday for my results since Saturday is Holloween and they're not open on Sundays. I think i may be pregnant because me period has NEVER in my life been like this and the doctor did say that since i stopped the pill, i can have heavy withdrawal bleeding and still be pregnant. Plus through out this month and last month, i have been missing alot of pills and taking them late (not purposely).... I have been worrying that i am having a miscarriage because i am having bad back pain and pain mostly in my left abdomen that i never had before.

Can someone PLEASE give me advice and share some symptoms or something that is similar to my story because im am extremely worried that i am having a miscarriage. I have been crying ever since i had the bleeding and i dont want to tell my boyfriend that i think im having a miscarriage because i dont want him to get upset until i know for sure. I am trying to stay positive and let God help me out but i do feel alot better hearing similiar stories that turned out well. I am 19 and i do actually want a baby now. This whole month has made me want to be pregnant. Please respond back... THANK YOU FOR LISTENING!

Its hard wading through your super detailed post, and I can't even begin to try.

Urine tests, in this day and age, are extremely accurate, especially the sensitive ones that are taken correctly, using a first morning urine and following all label directions.

The reason that sometimes a urine test will be negative is that a woman may test too soon, before there is enough of the HCG hormone in the urine to be detected...or she may use a urine that is too dilute.

If you have missed a period, or for some reason think you are pregnant, take a test.  If it is negative, and you continue to be concerned, test again in a week.  Each time, use a sensitive test and a first morning urine.

If the tests continue to be negative, yet you are concerned, see your doctor to discuss having a blood pregnancy test to settle the issue.

If you are having irregular bleeding and abdominal pain, see your doctor right away, regardless of the results of a test.

I know about the Urine test and stuff thats why I took the blood test... Sorry about the super long detailed story but i just wanted you guys to see the reason why i freakin out. Thank you for your advice though. I do appreciate it. DO u have any abnormal pregnancy stories?

Abnormal pregnancy stories?  Depends on what you mean by that.

No need to freak out.  If your blood and urine tests were negative, then you are not pregnant.  There are many reasons for heavy, light, irregular, missing, or otherwise abnormal cycles besides pregnancy.

I repeat, if you are having irreg bleeding and pain, see your doctor again.  You could have any number of other problems.

I didnt get my blood test results back I have to wait for Monday and I think my urine test was negative because i took it in the afternoon and i was too soon to tell through urine..... I just meant anything that isnt considered a normal pregnancy. such as: bleeding heavy and pain but nothing was wrong.

According to my lmp I am supposed to be 8 weeks pregnant. I went in for my 1st visit and the dr said that I was measuring 6-8 weeks. The very next day I started to bleed. I have been bleeding ever since, no cramping, no pain just bleeding/spotting. I went in for a ultrasound and the tech found only a sac. She said that the sac measured 3-4 weeks instead of 6-8 week but no baby or yolk. I was devestated. I went to speak with the dr and she said that my cervix was still closed which was a good sign, but the bleeding isn't so good. She said because my cervix is closed as of now she will be calling it a threatened miscarriage. She sent me to do blood work to check my HCG levels. They were 1722ml. I went back today for the next blood test. I pray that everything is ok and I really pray that I stop bleeding. this is really scary. I have never had any problems with my other pregnancies, plus i was in my twenties then, now I'm 33 so she said it's a  Does anyone has any kind of a similar situation that was positive that I can draw from. My husband and I are really freaking out about this.We really want this baby and now it seems hopeless
