What are the effects of a fever on my unborn baby? Why did I have a fever?

Hi, so far I have been having a fairly "normal" pregnancy. Yesterday, I had chills so bad that it literally hurt when I moved. I wrapped myself in my comforter and fell asleep and when I woke 4hrs. later my bed was soaked from sweat. Where did the fever come from? What could be the effects on my unborn baby? It only lasted for a few hrs.

It might have been hot flashes not fever.  They come from hormonal changes during pregnancy.

I believe they say you should be careful if you have a fever of 102-103 for more than a few hours.

Hopefully it was just hot flashes like the other poster said.
