What are the signs of an infant concussion?

My 7 wk old fell off of the couch in the middle of the night onto a hardwood floor. What are the signs of a concussion in an infant?

Take him to the doctor and let him decide whether or not he has a concussion.

Do babys roll over at 7 weeks, I am having a hard time remembering but yes, that young you should have gone to the ER immediatly.  My guess is this is a fake post.  If so shame on you and if not go to the ER.

It's not a fake post, she has a profile with pics.  You are a mother of 6 kids, you should know that putting a baby on a sofa is a big no-no.  Especially in the middle of the night.  I'm assuming someone was sleeping on the sofa with the baby on the edge and the baby fell.  I suggest you take the baby to the doctor and let them determine if the baby is ok.  Is the baby throwing up?  Any changes in behavior?  These are some questions that will be asked.

Yes I fell asleep while nursing my son. I am on blood pressure medicine and the doctor increased the dose. I did not go to sleep until about 4 hours after taking it, but it makes you drowsy until body adjust which about 3 or 4 days. My husband will be getting up with me while i am nursing at night until I am used to the meds. I never leave a baby alone anywhere!!!! You never know what could happen.

Yikes, you must have been going nuts when it happened.  How long has it been since this incident happened?  Can you nurse in the bed next time?  The thing is since you are on medication and quick to fall asleep you don't want to repeat this again.  I know just having a newborn alone is exhausting and then to add medication that makes you drowsy on top of that, you must have been out cold.

It happened at 2:30 in the morning. I stayed up for about 2 hours watching him and crying needless to say. I have had 5 other children and never done that before. He is acting normal. I am just unsure how long it can be before a concussion can set in. My husband is getting up with me to make sure I don't fall asleep again at least until my body adjust to the meds.

If a very young infant falls and hits his head on a hard surface, he should be taken to the hospital right away to be checked out.

I know exactly how that can happen. I'm guilty of nursing on the couch and laying back a bit to rest on the pillow and fall asleep.  I wake up and Holy Moses! I would have called the pediatrician in the morning. Hope the baby is okay.
