What does my pregnancy test mean?

Hi everyone, I hope you can help.
I've just taken a pregnacy test. Straight away I saw a dark line at the 'furthest' end away from the test strip. I didn't look until the two minutes passed, and then I saw a faint line at the bottom part as well.  They are different sstrengths but is this a positive result?

I'm not due on my period for another 3 days, but I started to suspect a week ago. I've had sore breasts, lower back pain, I'm weeing a lot, and my tomach dfeels...I don't know, strange. I've never taken a test before and I was expecting them to be the same colour - or only one visible!

I *will* take one again in a few days, but tonight is my works Christmas do and I want to know whether to drink as normal or to take it easy! :-)

Just to be safe I wouldn't drink at all you don't want to have a m/c or even risk anything you might be pregnant and I was always told if you can see two lines at all your pregnant but hey it might be faulse just do like you said and take a pg test in a few days it should be brighter. and if your not due for your period and you got a light line then you probley are not sure just wait a few days like you said.

I took mine three days early too and I also had a faint line.
The test I took said even if it had a faint line you were probably preg. I was:) I'm 8 weeks:) Hope that helps.

If you see even a faint line, then you are pregnant.  I have read many times that a false pregnancy test will occur far more often on a negative test when you are pregnant than on a positive test when you are not.  This is my third pregnancy and every test I've taken was only a faint line to indicate positive.  With this test, I got a positive result 4 days before my missed period.  So definitely take it easy.  If you will feel better, take another test in a few days.  Good luck!

hey im 21, i have had two home pregnancy tests done and they have faint lines (well they are visible but not in colour), i haven't had my period since november, bleed for 3 days in december and have spotted twice this month(january) please help! what does this really mean?
