What is wrong with my body?

Hi, All

I am new to the forum.

Here is my situation:

I have very regular period cycle of 24 to 26, some time 27/28, rarely over 28 days.

I had last period on April 16, and I still have not got my period by today ( nearly 6 weeks).

I did a blood test for pregnancy on May 22, and was negative. So I believe that my period is just delayed... However, it still does not come until today.

I am 38, and never have been pregnant as I had the fallopian tube blockage at my early 20's. My husband and I have regular unprotected sex for three years.

We just registered to do IVF last week; actually the pregnancy blood test was performed by the IVF doctor. In addition I did an Ultra-sound examination on May 23 (for IVF purpose)

Since yesterday I feel a bit hurt at my lower belly (both sides). I really don't know what I should do next:

Wait for the period coming? Or go to see my IVF doctor or family doctor?


Any suggestion/advice would be much appreciated.

Hi,
welcome to the forum. How much was your HCG (pregn. blood test level)?  I would definitely go back to your IVF doctor - I just found out that I am pregnant (5 weeks) after IVF with an egg donor (I am 47) I did have one tube removed lasst year and 2 miscarr. last 2 years... Have you tried any other fertility drugs like clomid or gonal? what does your IVF doc. says??
keep me posted  and be patient. Did you try the home pregnancy test too?

I did not know the HCG (pregn. blood test level) as the secretary of my IVF doctor told me the result is negative, I did not ask any further questions.

Actually I have not started my IVF cycle yet, and have not tried
any fertility drugs as well.

Yes, I did the home pregnancy test too on May 16, which was negative.


do you think I am still possibly pregnant?

Hi,
I am not a nurse and don't want to give you false info, but can tell you what I would do I would take another preg. test blood or home test in a few days to make sure if you still don't have your menses would contact my obgyn or fertility doc.
May I ask how old are you? if you need any info re. IVF it is our 3rd!!I will be more than happy to tell you what I know by experience. I am finally pregnant but still not out of the woods... til I hear the heartbeat and see something on the u/s. Patience and support from your partner and us on this line will help you a lot it could be a rollercoaster. I needed an egg donor because I am 47. If you prefer to e mail me :***@****

Hi, Eveyone,

I just wanted to give an update.

I did a blood test this morning, and went to see my IVF doctor.

The result is neg. However, the petestone level is around 17. My doctor said I will have my period soon. It looks like I skipped one cycle.

Well, I am not surpising about the test result. I just could not believe that I can get pregnant without any treatment like IVF cycle.

Sorry to hear that was neg. but when are you going to start IVF?
I'll be there for you if needed (via e mail too) the sucess rates are high with IVF would it be your own eggs? or egg donor like me?
