Well you will get a lot of these things at your baby shower (if you have one). As for wipes firstFirst progesterone mc10 First progesterone mc5 First-progesterone vgs 100 First-progesterone vgs 200 First-progesterone vgs 25 First-progesterone vgs 400 First-progesterone vgs 50 First-testosterone First-testosterone mc go with no scented--won't hurt the littleLittle noses decongestant Little tummys bottom--I used to buy them by the case, Wal-Mart Brand You get either four or five packs in a box...I loved the wipe warmer right on my changing table..also get a few changing table waterproof pads, Receiving blankets I think I had about a dozen--I used them mainly for burping or putting over my clothes....I had a few special blankets I liked to use..or use cltoh diapers as burp rages--they are thicker and hold a lot more spit up than normalNormal saline flush burp clothes...diapers are going to depend on the size your littleLittle noses decongestant Little tummys one comes out at--some will stay in the size zero or newbornNewborn jaundice for a long time other will jump thorugh diapers--I used to register for the size 2 and 3 for they are inthose a lot longer and I would buy the smaller ones--my boys were bigger so I did not need newborns....I always went through the onesises so have plenty of those on hand for the baby..and make sure the diaper bag you get will have enough room for bottle, formula, wipes and diapers and a change of clothes for baby (if not two)--also maybe room for your purse or pocketbook--my boys were close together so if I could just grab the diaper bag and not have to carry a purse it made it much easier for me...also if you live in a colder climate and baby is born during the cold spell-I loved a flannel sheet for the crib and bassinet--warmer for th elittle one--And I alwyas put a receiving blanket under the sheet where they usually lay to help catch the drool or spit up.
If there is anything you can never have enough of, it has definitely got to be either extra clothing, wipes, or diapers.
I don't prefer formula since they have been implicated in the development of allergies.
My recommendation is to feed your baby yourself as much as you can--and stay away from cow's milk as it can be HIGHLY allergenic and HIGHLY mucus-forming.
Buy wipes, diapers, bottles, pacifiers formula(unless you get wic) blankets if its cold in your area. Baby bath and shampoos etc. I remember worrying about all this too..I always asked how many bottles should i have and etc. I bought way too many. Well for my anyway(i do dishes complusively) Id say you need atleast 8-1o bottles...start with a few packs of diapers too.
Please at least try breastfeeding before jumping to formula. It is so much better for the babe, and for you. I really like the costco diapers and wipes. They are cheap, but made really well. I had wayyy too many size 1 diapers, so only buy a pack or two. The first few weeks all she was in was a onesie or a sweet pea gown, which are great for middle of the night diaper changes. Baby wash cloths, lotion and wash. Some dr.s say to use alcohol on the umbilical stump, so alcohol and cotton balls. Nail clippers, a bouncer is nice when you take a shower. I have a ring sling, and it is the best thing we bought. I put her in it when she was about 3 days old, and it is so nice. The baby is close and cuddled right next to you, and you have your hands free to do whatever, I have only used my stroller once. I think 10 recieving blankets is good, plus a few warm ones. A pack of cloth diapers is really nice for burping and spit up. If you do end up breasfeeding and needing to go back to work, a hospital put is really nice. I rented one for 40 bucks a month, I don't work but just to have a little supply of frozen milk on hand. Good luck with your Little One!!
