What kind of crib?

What kind of crib?

Ok, going shopping for my crib and wondering which brand is the best but not to expensive.  I really don't want to spend more then $250.00.  What is the safest?

I know here in Canada even the most economical has to meet current safety standards, I am assuming it is the same in the US.  I would check out Walmart, Sears they seem to have some nice stuff for reasonable prices.  And even the simplest crib is adorable when all fitted out!!

Just make sure it is easy to assemble, has several differant mattress levels and has wheels.

I remember you live in VA, don't you? There is a Walmart on King street in Alexandria, VA, friend of mine bought a changing table, drawer and a crib for $200. I did the same thing and I can tell you, it looks great. They still have it in the store. Itr's made from oak, so the colour is beige. There is no need to spend too much on that. Also, the crib converts into a toddler bed.

I registered for this crib because of all the good reviews.

It's on my registry, and someone has bought it but I don't think we're getting it until our shower....which is very close to my due date.  =-0  We did get our dresser in though, and it's the same brand.  It's very nice.  It looks like we paid a lot more for it than we actually did!  They carry this crib in the store...although a lot of reviews say it may be hard to find.  But that's another reason I registered for THAT crib...so no money would have to be wasted on shipping.  Hope that helps a little! :)

It's hit & miss, but I found a beautiful old wood crib at a garage sale. Looks very old and is real wood. Dh sanded it down and refinished. Is gorgeous!!! They don't make 'em like that anymore. Good ones are out there, it just takes a lot of looking at cr*p, too. :)

I am getting my crib from K Mart. It is white and the back is a solid piece of wood instead of the rails. It is a 3 in 1 bed. It's really pretty and only $130!! I shook and shook the display model and the store and it didn't so much as creak.......so that's the one we are going with. My changing table is from Target and is around $80. I like it because it looks more like a bookcase than a changing table and my child will be able to use it when he gets older!

(They don't have the crib for sale on the website...this ad is for the bedding)

And here is the changing table

(I guess it's 90......not 80 dollars)

I bought mine from Babies R Us when we took in our foster daughter last April. It is black sleigh by Olympia and BEAUTIFUL! We paid more because black was so new then that it was more expensive, but the price has dropped to $250 for the same bed now. We used it for her the entire year that we had her and are using it for our new baby once she arrives this summer. I am still in love with the crib because of the various heighth adjustments and how easy it is to slide around. I think it is beautiful!

No targets in Nova Scotia, I used to live in TN and I miss them ;(

All the Walmarts here are "superstores" and I hate them, they are huge.

What is the name of your crib? I have it and lost the manual on how to convert it. Thanks
