What month am I in?

What month am I in?

Hi.  I'm very confused about this and have been for a while.  Okay, everything I go to, it'll always say what week I'm in.  But I'm confused as to what month I'm in.  For example, I'm reading "what to expect when you're expecting" and They only go by month 1, month 2, etc.  I will be 12 weeks tomorrow, so I really want to know how many months I am.  Does anyone have this info?  Please let me know what weeks are in what month.  If a pregnancy is 40 weeks, that would be 10 months!  Please help!  Thanks!

You are [almost] 3 months pregnant. 12wks divided by 4wks in a month equals 3 months. Congrats on your pregnancy =]

you have to count from your firat day period 40 weeks. so when the doctor told you that you are 12 week actually your baby age is only 8 weeks. every month have 4 weeks, so if you are 12 weeks you are 2 months prego. my baby dead at 36 week and the doctor told me that i am only eight month but if you divide 36/4 it will be 9. it is really confusing. i always count 12/4= 3 months so i am 2 months prego. i am not really sure. but just wanted to share.

you will be in your 3d month once you are 12 weeks. 40 weeks does make it 10 months. You can always count your due date as 9 months and go back each month on that date. It's confusing, I know, plus that book also has the weeks off on some of the months.

go to http://i-am-pregnant.com/
scroll down a little, and on the left side you can enter your due date. it them calculates for you what week and month you are, how many weeks, months, days, you have left, etc.... i find it to be very helpful.

I was wondering the same thing and today I came across a website that said the best way to tell what month you are in is this:    Count backwards.    I will be 16 weeks tomorrow and my due date is Dec. 5th.     It said on your due date you will be 9 months so take your due date and count backwards a month at a time.   By this, I will be 4 months on July 5th; 5 months on August 5th; 6 months on Sept 5th; 7 months on October 5th; 8 months on Nov 5th and then 9 months on Dec. 5th.

I was so confused by this , there are 2 ways to count from what i'm told. The Lunar method and the Georgian (sp?) method. The lunar method counts by every 4 weeks as a month( evens out to 10 months) and the Georgian method counts every 4.3 weeks as a month  (evens out to 9 months). But I got so frusterated I just count by the day i conceived nov,19th so that on dec 19th I was one month, on Jan 19th I was 2.. and so on.  My doctor couldn't even tell me what month I was in, she just said to ignore months and focus on weeks. :)
