What to do to keep the cradle cap away?

What to do to keep the cradle cap away?

Hi ladies!
Ok, so my baby had cradle cap all over the top of her head, forehead, eyebrows and ears so the doc gave me a cream to put on her after bathing her (and told me to mix half of that cream with half of aveeno cream). Anyways I did it and all is gone. BUT I'm noticing that her head is getting dry again- her forehead was getting dry too but I put aveeno cream on it and it seems to keep it moist enough, BUT I don't know what to do with her upper head since she has a lot of hair and if I put the aveeno cream on it , its going to look greasy! So does anyone has any advice as to how to treat this dryness that can become cradle cap?

we used baby oil every time my daughter's scalp started to dry out after her first cradle cap outbreak and it never came back...you could try that :).

i'd rub baby aveno on their heads and then "brush" their scalp with one of those soft baby brushes. they LOVED it. it was relaxing and soothing for them and it helped keep cradle cap at bay.

Try using the baby oil during each bath.  Rub the oil on gently before washing her hair.  Let it sit for a minute or two, then shampoo and rinse as usually.

key has a good point about bathing every day.  Babies generally only need a full bath every 2-3 days, unless they have a huge mess (major spit up, diaper blow out etc)  On the off days I usually just give a good baby wipe -wipedown getting all the sweaty parts and places that "collect" things like armpits, neck, fat rolls etc.

True I was doing that too but my husband prefers to bathe him everyday since that's what they do in his country. I just like to bathe her everyday since its sooooo hot now and she sweats when I have her on a baby carrier. Plus it makes her sleep better!
Can I use the baby wipes on her neck? I wasn't sure and boy do that part stink!

I also used baby oil.  Every time we gave him a bath, we'd put a little on his head and rub it gently with a wash cloth.  It went right away and never came back.

^oh, and I wanted to add that we did bathe him every day.  He had reflux and spit up all the time in massive amounts and needed a bath every day or he would smell sour.
