it could be that she is not on a normal cycle yet.  You can take her to an ob/gyn to see what is going on...she might need to be put on birth control pills to regulate her period. Hope this helps you...there are a lot of women who have to have their periods regulated for awhile so try not to worry too much ok.  Keep us posted on how everything goes

Is she extrememly active? underweight? I knew a girl who was high school age (my ex sister in law) who didnt have a cycle for 6 months.  Her dad took her to the OBGYN (her mom died when she was young) and found out it was due to her weight and over activity in sports. They put her on the pill and it regulated her. She was around 15/16 at the time.  Hope that helps.

I'm 20 and have been irregular since I started getting my period when I was 13.  Sometimes it would regulate for a few months, but mostly I'd get them every 2-6 months.  I just started birth control to regulate them, because I was sick of it.  It doesn't mean she's not normal.  Not many 13 year olds are regular.

I was that same way  all growing up.  I would have my period anywhere from every two to every six months.  I have continued like that until now and am now married and am expecting a baby.  One doctor did suggest putting me on Clomid to regulate my cycle so my hormones were regulated as they should be and so I shed the amount of lining I needed to.  Just take her to an OBGYN if you are very concerned, but just know that nothing may be wrong.  Hope this helps.

I have heard that many women do not become regular until a year or two after they start having periods.

I would really like to say thank you to Kare Bear, because I am 19 and I am the same way. I have only had a few months in the last 6 years that I have been on my period that I have actually been regular, the rest of the time it would vary from 6 months to 2 weeks...and I have always been afraid to say anything to anyone for fear that there might be something wrong. (Stupid I know)
I read your comment not too long ago and I went to the doctor with more confidence and there ofcourse wasn't anything to worry about!! Thank You! :) You really made me more comfortable, and gave me some reassurance!!
