When and are chances better???

i had a d&c a week ago and i wanted 2 know how soon after the bleeding stops can we try again and are chances of a healthy pregnancy higher after d&c??

I dont know about chances of a healty pregnancy I still need to ask that myself, but a minimum of two weeks to a month until your body gets back to normal is what I have been told.  Probably better to wait a bit longer say a month (is what was advised to me), this will give things time to return to normal and for you to be ok.  You a least need to wait until all discharge and bleeding has stopped completety.

It can take 4-6 weeks for your hormone levels to return to zero, and your periods will not retutn until this happens.  So until you have a normal menstral cycle then you will not be ovulating anyway.

I've just been through this myself (this week) and it's been absolutely heartbreaking/devastating.  My thoughts are with you, and I wish you all the best for next time.

You should have another follow up appointment for after your d&c to make sure all is well, so you could ask about future pregnancies then.

i will see the doc in about 5wks for tests results as this has happened 3 times in 7 months but this was my 1st d&c

i have to disagree with that cause i had my d&c on june 5th 08 and we got preggo before the af even returned . we are almost 11 weeks pregnant now  and due march 09 so you can get pregnant before your period even returns and you do ovalute before your af returns after a d&c . you are very fertile after a d&c . and nothing is wrong with the pregnancy so far everything is good . so you can try now if you are ready . we got pregnant 3 weeks after the d&c  they only tellyou to wait a few cycles for dates to go by. when your body is ready it will get preggo again. i wish you all the luck in the world, n after a d&c you levels go down alot faster than just having a normal m/c. . i hope that the dr can give you the answers you are looking for sweetie i know how bad you want to have a healthy baby and you are in my prayers...

I never had a D&C, but I had 2 miscarriages and got prego ago both times before AF returned!!  Had a healthy baby boy after the first one, and and 15 weeks prego ago w a 2nd!  Good luck!

hi,im new to the forum but went thru the same thing  u r going thru. I had a D&C on oct.21 and found out i was pregnant the day after thanksgiving, and had a healthy pregnancy and baby, i wish u the best of luck!

This was very reassuring to read.  We were 18 weeks and lost our baby.  December 23rd we found out.  We had our d and e on december 28th.  No sex for two weeks, but I think I want to start trying right away.  I feel it will happen again when my body is ready.  Thanks for posting your experience.
