When is it safe again?!

When is it safe again?!

Alittle over a month ago me and my boyfriend lost our first baby at 12 weeks. We went to the doctors 2 weeks later, my utrus is back to normal size, and everything is a ok she said. I was just wondering when it would be safe to try again, ive seen people say that you can a month after, ive seen some say if you try to close to when you miscarried you'll miscarry again, but others say there's no lionk between them that each pregnancy is like a clean slate. Has anyone ever experensed any of this?! Also the nurses told me when I found out the 25% of all woman miscarry their first pregnancy because their body isnt ready for it, but when they try again have a healty baby because their body knows what to expect is this true as well thanx in advance for the advice/input.

Did they check to see that your hcg levels were back down to normal?  Did you have a D&C or naturally miscarry?  If you had a D&C your doctor might recommend waiting a few cycles as it's a more invasive proceedure.

With my first pg I miscarried at 8wks.  It was a natural mc and I was told that I could go ahead and try right away-- but, that it was advisable to wait a least one cycle between, because there is a slight increase in chance of another miscarriage if you don't.  (If you have a cycle it "cleans out" the uterus and gives the body longer to "reset".)
Well, we didn't want to wait so we tried right away and got pregnant again the very next month.  Sadly, that resulted in miscarriage #2 at 7wks.
We then waited one month/cycle and I got pregnant right away and carried to term.

There's a lot of reasons women miscarry, and most times no one will ever know the exact reason.  It's true they are a lot more common then most people think, and often a doctor won't even do any testing until you've had three of them.

One thing my Ob told me was that they've done some studies which now show that women who have been on oral birth control up until trying to concieve (conceive) (and especially if they've been on the pill for more than 3 yrs), have a much chance of miscarriages for their first pregnancy.

Anyway, if your Ob says it's safe, go for it-- or if you're a little more concerned, wait a cycle or two.  Sorry for your loss... it's something that no one can fully understand unless you've been-there-done-that, and sadly I can fully relate to your pain.

yes thats what we think happened to our baby because I was on birth control and then got pregnant so we figured thats what hurt our baby, I had the d&c done my body wouldn't flush it out naturally, im very sorry for your loss I don't know how you did it twice.
