When will baby sleep through the night???

When will baby sleep through the night???

Hi! I have a 5 1/2 month old daughter (my 2nd). My first baby slept through the night even before she was 2 months (of course i know every baby is different). But when do they exactly sleep through the night? She still wakes up 2x every night to drink her milk. Now i tried to give her extra oz so maybe she'll be full longer, doesn't help. It's like it's a routine for her to wake up at 1am and 4am. I usually put her to bed around 8:30pm. Help!!!

I know that it's frustrating but she's probably going through a growth spurt.  Is she eating any solids yet?  She might be ready for solids.  I remember DD started doing that around 7 months, that's how I knew she was ready for solids and just milk/formula wasn't enough for her.  In a couple of weeks, she'll be ready for solids so try that and see if she does better.  It will pass eventually.

This is frustrating because EVERY child is different. My daughter didn't sleep through the night for the first time until she was 18 months old. She still, at 5, has a difficult time sleeping through the night.  My son on the other hand pretty much slept through the night from the night we brought him home from the hopsital.  There's no guessing when the magic age will be!  Good luck and I hope you get some sleep!  I remember those exhausted feelings!

Each kid is different, unfortunately I have had 2 bad sleepers.  Really though if your little one is going down at 8:30, she's doing really well.  It's 4 & 1/2 hrs. in between bed and the first waking. Cam is 1 and didn't sleep through the night till 11 months, and even then it was for about 2 & 1/2 weeks.  His reflux is bad at night, he's had ear infections, teeth, and the growth spurts.  He's up and starving around 4 am, and he goes down close to 10, is up at 4, I call that a good night.  He does go back down after he eats, but he's up- by 7 and ready for the day.  He takes one nap.  I have been through the drill before and the Dr. has pointed out that some kids need more sleep than others.  I think in time you will be able to phase out one feeding and then the other.  It's tough to be tired, but it will pass.  I am hoping I get one of those magic babies next time.  Hang in there, your not alone and your little one sounds perfectly normal to me, I think you just got spoiled with your first :)

She started solid when she was 4months for allergy testing (just a few spoon here and there). She can actually finish a whole jar of solid for (1st). I am just feeding her 1-2x/day of solid (the first time she finish the whole jar, she was gassy, cranky that night - i guess that scared me, that's why i don't feed her solid during evening right before going to bed). I was excited that she'll be turning 6 months in 2wks for she can be on cereal, unfortunately as per my pediatrician they changed infant to start cereal at 8months due to allergy problem developing this early.

To everyone who gave me their inputs, thanks. i guess i am not alone then.

I love your profile pic by the way.  Your kids are gorgeous.  It all depends.  My son has slept through the night by 2 months but he has his moments when he will wake up during the night.  When he was teething he wouldn't eat as much during the day because his teeth would bother him so he would wake up more frequently at night.  Also, he has his growth spurts and he will get up in the middle of the night to feed.  I just got through another one.  Try making sure to feed as much during the day so that your ds gets enough calories in the daytime and may not wake to feed at night.  It will be over soon enough, you just have to get through it.  Good luck.

When will she sleep all night?

When she's ready.  Have no expectations--she's  very young and if she's waking to feed, she obviously needs to be.  Enjoy this baby time, its over far too quickly!

The twins are 11 weeks now and will eat about 4-6 oz at around 9:00-9:30 pm and sleep until about 4:00-5:00 am - they are doing pretty good but have their bad nights.  Just hang in there - like peek said, this will all be over too quickly and we will miss these times.  I cherish every waking moment with my boys at 3 o'clock in the morning - however I may be half asleep while doing it!!  hee hee :)

Thank you for all your inputs and support. I'll keep you updated guys. To mami1323 - thank you for photo comment - that picture was taken when my baby was 2wks old (she's grown now... hahaha... growth spurts so we speak).
