When you had your first... Due date ?

Hi ladies.  I am curious about the rumor that most first time mothers go over their due date and hoping its not the norm haha.  So for those of you who have had your first child already, did you go past your due date or have him/her on or before it?  

What week did you have him/her in the 36th, 37th, 38th,39th.40th.41st??

Obviously not counting if you had complications and went early or were induced before your date.  Just looking for normal pregancies ending in childbirth here... unless you went over and had to be induced... then please share!

I think in most cases the baby comes when it is time- obviously there are a lot of cases where babies come too early, or it is going way past due... but...  my DD (my first) was born at 36 weeks-  I was actually throwing up (sorry if TMI) one morning and my water just broke...  I actually thought I had just peed myself because of the pressure-  sure enough it was my water and my DD came that day--  she was 4 weeks early but weighted 7lbs 5ozs (my husband and I were both 10 lb babies)

I had my first daughter 6 days late and she only weighed 6 lb 6 oz.  I never started dialating before the day she was born.  I was set to be induced that night, but I guess the Dr. exam got me started because I began having contractions before I even left for the hospital.

when i had my 1st he was due on the 2nd sept but arrived on the 16th sept exacly 14 days after my due date but he must have been comfortable in there because i still had to be induced to get him to come out

I had my first daughter 2 weeks early @ 38 weeks.  You have no idea how grateful I was.  I was a WHALE, and that baby needed to come out!!!

i had so many due dates with my first because i didnt have a regular period, but my ending due date that we used most of the pregnancy was march 20th, i had dd on feb. 22 and she was 7lbs 7oz, so i think she was "done" but apparently i was 36 or 37 weeks according to the final due date, so there is hope!

I had my 1st one 2 weeks early - my water exploded!! HA HA!  I started labor @ 37 weeks tho.  Then my 2nd was a scheduled section 1 weeks early.

I had my first 5 days early, went into labor a day earlier.  I'm hoping this one comes a couple of weeks early like my OB said.

My first child was a week late.   They ended up inducing me at 41 weeks.

Well my first due date was set for July 10th...then after a u/s at 18 weeks, the baby was measuring smaller, so they changed my due date to July 21st....I knew that the 10th was too soon, and I know I did not ovulate late in the month I concieved..so personally, Knowing my cycle, I knew my baby would be born the middle of the month, I was guessing the 14th or 15th of July....she was born the 17th! So When ppl ask me, I say she was right on time, because she was born when I thought she would be! But I guess if you are going by the edd, I was under a week early...I don't put much stock in the dd's though, My baby came exactly when I thought she would...they have their own schedule, ya know, LOL!

My DS was born 3/3 and my EDD was 2/28. But a friend of mine was due 10/10 and had her DS 9/22 about 37 weeks. Another friend of mine was due 4/25 and had her DD 3/28 and she was 7lbs 2oz, so I think her dates were off.

I think they should follow our schedules! We'll be following theirs for years after birth! lol

July 17th is my brother's bday! :) The 16th is mine...shoulda worked harder to get her here a day sooner! :)

My first was born 8 days early, sharing a birthday with my uncle and cousin. My second was born 6 days late, sharing a birthday with my brother and his fiance.
We never planned it that way, that's just how it worked out. I always wonder if I have another who's b-day it would take.

Ours has a chance to be born on a number of special days!  She could be born August 27th which is my birthday, the 31st which is my grandma's b day, Sept. 4th which is my FIL's b day, or Sept 5th which is my mom and dads anniversary! Plus there is labor day weekend in there so if she does wait till then, everyone will have monday off to see her lol!

My first was born at 35 weeks.  My water broke in the middle of the night and I went into labor shortly thereafter.

They had the NICU specialists at her birth - which made me very nervous.  But she came out screaming and was perfectly fine!!  She was 5 lb 10 oz and 17"...and she's still short and chubby and she's now 2 1/2!  Gotta love chubby kids :)

My 1st baby was born 6 weeks early at 34 wks because I had HELLP syndrome. I had to have an emergency C-sect.  She was 5lbs 4oz and 17 and 3/4 in.  She was perfect, no problems except she was Jaundice.  Now she is a TALL 9year old that weighs 80lbs..lol
My 2nd daughter was born V-BAC, induced a week early.
Now I am PG with # 3! yay!

Hmmm with my first they moved my due date 4 times (from October '92 till December '92).  I went into labor the day before they were going to induce me (thinking I was "late" but not certain because my periods were so irregular).  

The second... I went into labor the day before my due date.... *ponders*

This is number 3, due August 27th... and I'm wondering how far it will go.  Been having a ton of contractions, dilating and everything but still no baby at 37 weeks.  

They also say that each baby is bigger than the last... odd, my first was 8lbs, #2 was 7lbs 15oz... and if this baby goes till her due date she'll also be 8lbs.  

Oh... and "the babies after #1 are faster for labor"... wrong again for me... 9 hrs with #1... 30+ hrs with #2.... and this one... I wonder if it will be long again.

We started a pool at work for Max's arrival date! lol So far it's the 21st (which is exactly when I said he'd come all along!) That would be a week early, but I'd be happy with that! :)

lol that's cool.  Mine is August 20th, and my 2nd was born August 17th.  I think the family is starting to take bets on the actual birth date.  August has been a very busy month... My wedding was the 3rd, my younger brother is getting married tomorrow... and then the birthdays and now Lilith... Gosh, I was hoping for another Leo in the house, might end up with a Virgo after all!

I'm a virgo on the 27th... I'm not sure when it switches... sometime in late august!  Jess, everyone is betting I'll go until sept.  It's so not nice haha.

My first son was born at 32 weeks, don't know why he was so early, he was 4lb 15oz (quite big for a 32 weeker) and okay for a few days but when he was 3 days old he had a brain bleed which resulted in hydrocephalus (water on the brain) and cerebral palsy. It was the same day my grandmother passed away, she left this world just 3 hours before he arrived, I like to think they passed each other on the way and she keeps watch over him still. My second was deliverd by c section at 37 weeks, a healthy 8lbs 10oz. I am only 5ft, I can't imagine how huge I would have been had I gone to 40 weeks or more!

My first son was due August 4th, they moved the date to the 1st, and he came on the 12th.  I went in to be induced on the 11th, but he was stubborn, a few more hours and he would've made it to the 13th.  He was over 10 lbs., so my second baby they induced a week early.  We kept getting bumped due to a freak snowstorm this past end of March.  Everyone went into labor but me.  They ran out of rooms and apparently had women laboring in the pediatric ward and in the triage rooms in the ER.  I was glad to wait when they called to tell me what was going on.  Second baby took less time, 11 hours compared to 38 and he was 8 lbs. 13 oz.  He actually was crowning when they checked me.  Hang in there, I would rather have a bigger healthy baby than worry if they come too early, even though I was huge and contracting the last month with both of them.  I kept showing up to work, people flet really sorry for me at the end, I miss being pregnant though.

DD was born at 37 weeks (exactly 3 weeks before due date).  I was watching TV and the water just started gushing out.  I thought I was peeing on myself so ran to the bathroom and sat on the toilet wondering how come I can't control it.  Little did I know that my water broke (AND DH was out of state :((  Luckily, he was on his way home and made it to the hospital shortly after I arrived there leaking all over the place.
