Where is my affection?

When did your child stop wanting to be kissed or hugged?  I remember when I used to ask Jayden to give me a kiss he used to come straight at me with a big, wet, open mouthed kiss.  Now when I ask for a kiss he sticks his hand out and moves his head away and says no.  He still will take a hug but often he will run in the other direction when I ask for even that.  Or my favorite when I ask for a kiss he gives me his forehead.  Boy you came out of me, I can kiss you any where I want.  What's up with that?

Around 15 months i saw the most affection, then around 17 months we started getting the forehead.  He will kiss all of his toys, he will come up and kiss and cuddle our knees as we are sitting down, but when we ask he will not walk over anymore, but wont run away...yet.  If we are holding him we get the cheek or forhead.  My husband and I noticed last night that he uses kisses against us now.  My husband asked for one and he got the forehead then without me asking he ran over and gave me a kiss.  I will be sad when the day comes that he says no!

Jayden is 15 months now and this is the new thing.  He does that to me also, hugs my legs but he's horrible when it comes to kisses.  He will even laugh when I beg him for them....lol.

Noah is abnormally affectionate, he even comes up and lifts my shirt to hug and kiss my belly lol (he knows about the baby)  I have a pic on my profile lol.

I will be so sad when he stops giving me kisses and hugs.

Noah jokingly refuses to give me kisses so I say "well I am going to steal them then" and I grab him and give him a "kiss attack" as we call it, he thinks it is so funny.

my daughter always wants hugs and kisses and comes up to give them to me even when I dont ask.  she is 22 months.

Avery will give them if I ask, as long as she isn't doing something important-haha! She does give more hugs without being asked around bedtime when she is tired.

my lil girl loves givng kiss without any reason, she will just come and give me a BIG kiss and say mumy i LOVE YOU and i feel sooooooooo happy i almost see tears coming down LOL, she going to be 3 next week :)

My dd is almost 14 months.  She definitely goes through spurts of affection.  Some days I will get tons of hugs and kisses, while other days only hugs.  It is funny - like one day she is just very lovey and I get 1000 kisses and the next day nothing!!  Don't worry, these toddlers are so busy right now, it is hard to get them to do anything!  The one day recently when I was smothered with kisses was when her dad took her to gma's without me for about 8h.  She must have missed me because that night and the next day I got lots of smoochies!!

I have a 13 yr old boy who went thru the same thing. Reading your stories made me giggle. This is SO normal. I stole them anyway LOL. I said the same thing "boy I had you, I'll kiss you when I want" and it turned into a game. Now, he lets me kiss him whenever. I told him years ago that he NEVER has to be emabarrassed about Mom or Grandma kissing him :o)

Turn it into a game and eventually he show you affection again :o)

Trevor can't seem to ever have enough hugs and kisses, or stop giving them. He's extremely affectionate and always has been. Usually, I'm the one pushing him away after a few, lol!

My son's the same way. He's 4 and still will crawl into my lap and give hugs and kisses! I hope it never stops!
