I am six wks pregnant today. I have had a littleLittle noses decongestant Little tummys bit of bleeding in the last week. I have been to the doctor a couple of times because of this but all seems to be fine. Today at the doctors office I did learn that my hcg levels are doubling just as they should but my progesterone levels are a littleLittle noses decongestant Little tummys low. During an ultrasound today I was told that the sac size has doubled since my last ultrasound 5 days ago(5 wks 2 days pregnant) but they could not find a heart beat or anything. My doctor started me on progesterone tablets today as well. Should I be concerned with miscarriage? Which is more accurate in determining miscarriage, hcg levels or progesterone levels?
Do you happen to know what your progesterone levels have been? I know people who have started with progesterone less than 7 and gone on to have a viable pregnancy. I wish you the best!
((((hugs))) I know what you are feeling like right now. It's so worrisome but TRY not to worry because that won't help. They say they like to see your progesterone around 20 in early pregnancy BUT i've known people start with LOW progesterone (much lower than yours) who have gone on to have healthy pregnancies. My friend works at an infertility clinic and the first time I called her w/ my numbers she said "it sounds like an ectopic to me". I'll never forget that...unfortunately in my case, she was right. PLEASE keep me posted and I will be thinking of you. The slow rising hcg and lower progesterone level is a concern but it does NOT necessarily mean your pregnancy is doomed. Hang in there and know that I will be thinking of you! p.s. Did your doc want you to take progesterone supplements? Just curious (my doc was not a progesterone advocate post-conception but she put me on it saying "may not help, can't hurt"
You said they saw a sac in your uterus, right? so THAT is a GREAT sign...and your numbers are doubling as they should? I really wouldn't worry at all then! Sorry I didn't get that more clearly! I bet your progesterone is just fine too...they probably caught it early in your pregnancy and it's probably much higher now. W/ my ectopic they saw a sac in my uterus, but it was what she called a pseudo-sac and it was abnormally shaped as well =(.
Thanks for your input and thoughts. Yea, they did say my hcg numbers are looking great and the sac has been growing. They didn't say if there was any abnormalities with that. So, I'm assuming not. I will have another u/s on Monday 3/7 so I'm keeping my faith and trust in the lord that we'll see that little guy or girl then. Thanks again- hearing good things alwasys put the mind a little more at ease. :)
Let me know how your u/s goes next Monday! Think positive...I bet everything is just fine! My progesterone was low and stayed low AND my numbers were not doubling normally AND my sac did not grow! SO, I bet your little baby is growing JUST like he/she should! =) (((((hugs))))) Kellie
Thanks, I've definatley been doing better on the whole worrying thing. I'll will also let you know how all goes next Monday. I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed! Espically since I'm already considered a high risk pregnancy. I lost a baby 7 years ago due to incompetant cervix. I ended up delivering at only 20 1/2 weeks. That was rough but what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger. Thank you again for the positive words.
I have read that ultrasound is the most correct for determining m/c. Even though that is the case, any diagnosis with ultrasound needs to be tested out. I wish you well with your pregnancy. Visit this site for further helpful info and encouraging stories. Take care.
Usually they like you 6 weeks ++++
I never bothered with watching my hcg and progesterone levels
tell the truth i never knew any of the numbers and my son is just fine
I think we can drive ourselves crazy with worry
Im sure all will be fine
