I am 3 months pregnant and worry that he has something other than tonsillitus that I may catch from him. I don't know what to do. The Dr. doesn't know of anything else that it could be causing the white patchesAllergy testing Skin color - patchy but I have read online that it could be a fungal infection. Should I see an ENT? If anyone has had any experience with this before I would appreciate some info.
I don't know what it could be but in my opinion I would recommend seeing an ENT because I did that with my 11 and 9 year old and he said they needed their tonsils AND adenoids (adenoids) out. My 11 year old got his out a month ago and i see a HUGE difference in him already! My 9 year old gets his out this week! I would definitely recommend at least seeing an ENT because my sons went all this time with chronic strep, sleep apnea, etc etc..what a HUGE difference I see already in this short time! good luck to you!
Sometimes certain antibiotics don't work for certain things. May not be strong enough. Try another round, it it doesn't work then you may have to go further. I wouldn't suggest having them out for one infection that's for sure!
I don't think an ENT automatically suggests taking them out at least that wasn't my impression with mine. He said the norm these days is to try other things first and take them out as a last resort. My kids are both getting them out because they are HUGE..as my ENT said "those are the most horrificly monstrous tonsils i've EVER seen"...LOL...and my kids had chronic infections since they were babies..=-) hope that helps!
My daughter 13 constantly has sore throats and little white patches. But hers is due to Asma Spelling sucks today. We could nto figure out what was going on until they got an exray of her chest and seen her airways. The irritation of not breathing correctly kept irritation her tonsils. Since she has been on two different inhalers it has gotten much better but still there. This is just my experience. Please ask more questions and I hope you little one feels better soon. Happy Mothers Day.
