Why do I feel so bad

by expectant_mom, May 21, 2007 12:00AM
I am suppose to be about 7 wks pregnant (give or take) and I feel like **** all day long.  If I eat, if I dont eat.  When I dont eat I feel worse but when I do eat it only makes me feel better for a minute or so.  I am always dizzy and this morning I threw up bile (tmi, I am sorry) for the first time.  Grose!!! I know they say this is a good sign, morning sickness that is.  But I feel like this all the time.  My stomach is constantly yelling at me.  What to do?  Is this normal?  Anything I can do to help it, to help me?

well with my first i was exactly like you, it stinks im sorry i know how you feel, hopefully yours will go away, or at least get better in the next few weeks, most feel better after 12 weeks, i was lucky enough to be sick all nine months lol

oh and i threw up bile too, the yellow stuff?? thats the fun part, i only noticed the bile when i wouldnt eat, my advise would be at least eat something easy like crackers, so you can throw something up, i know it was always better when i threw up something, rather then the bile YUCK!

HANG IN THERE! you will start to feel better probable 12-16 weeks(when you get into your second trimester). Make sure you you are drinking enough dehydration will make you really sick on it's own not factoring in pregnancy dehaydration can also cause contractions, don't force yourself to eat if you do not feel like you can hold it down or try something light toast or crackers. If you are getting really sick your doctor may be able to give you something. But the general crappy feeling your are having is being pregnant I think it is gods way of reminding us before the belly pops out that something is growing in us! I have a friend who would drink peppermint tea and said it helped with her nausea, you may want to look into some herbal tea to help (but check with your doctor, just because something is natural does not make it good for the baby).

i also had it awful in the beginning. but to make up for it, i had a wonderful second trimester!! i also puked bile every morning. if i was very quick to eat something first, sometimes it wouldn't happen. i was sick and exhausted. i even slept through christmas dinner. there was no hiding this pregnancy from my family! i lost some weight, and the doctor prescribed me zofran, which did help a bit. i didn't puke when i took it, but the nausea was still there. basically, you feel so bad because you're blessed with a healthy pregnancy! just eat anything that doesn't sound horrible (cause nothing actually sounded good) and don't worry about proper nutrition at this point- the baby will get what it needs from you. just make sure you take your prenatals and stay hydrated. it also helped if i never let more than 1 1/2 to 2 hrs pass without nibbling something.
good luck and congratulations! and by the way, don't panic if you wake up one day and you feel a little bit better. every now and then i'd have a good day, but until i was well into the second trimester, it always came back.

To: Thank you!
Thank you for all your wonderful advice.  I am so happy to be here but so nervous because of the miscarriage last time around.  Blessings come in small doses and I truly believe this is one of them.  Thanks again.  Keep in touch :o)
