Worried about problems...possible mc?? any help would be great

I had an ultrasound today, I'm about 5 weeks.  Too early to see baby, occasional light brown spotting, once it was a drop of pink.  Doc did UA and Blood tests....Ultrasound showed sac at top of uterus, good sign....but too early for heartbeat or actual sighting of baby....Is this normal?  spotting, it never happened with two sons.....any advice would be great...

Brown blood is ok. It's when it goes bright pink or red or any clots.

And to the ultrasound, that's normal, you wont usually see anything till about 6 weeks.

Hi - I spotted from about 5 weeks to 7 weeks mostly light pink and then it turned to brown.  During this time, I was totally freaking out and ended up having an u/s at 5 wks, 5 days where they could see everything, including a heartbeat (too small to measure, though).  My little grain of rice has now grown to 22 wks tomorrow :)  Good luck to you - try as hard as you can to stay calm.  I was frantic, and this made things worse for me (cramping, crying, you name it).  So far, I haven't spotted since, but my OB said that 50% of women bleed during pregnancy and go on to have healthy babies.  Mine was chalked up to implantation.  Again, best of luck to you!!!

I know it's very difficult, but try not to worry too much yet.  I had 3 miscarriages last year, so when I got pregnant with this one and started spotting brown/pink and then eventually bright red in my 6th week I assumed the worst.  I thought for sure I was losing this one too.  That wasn't the case though. After a visit to the ER and then a follow up visit with my Dr. a few day later it was very obvious on the ultrasound that it was subchronic bleeding (implantation bleeding)  I had always heard implantation bleeding happened very early on in pregnancy, but the Dr.'s assured me that it was not the case and that a woman can have implantation bleeding well into the 9th week!  Mine lasted the entire 6th week of my pregnancy and as you can imagine I was scared to death the whole time.  I worried a lot until I reached 12 weeks and then I started to relax.  I'm now 17 weeks and everything is going great.  I wish you the very best and hope your little bean holds on tight and that it's just implantation bleeding that you're having.  Hang in there and try to relax.  Baby Dust!!

Hi! I am 5 weeks pregnant today (LMP 1/23). It is so good to read the comments on here and hopefully receive some insight! This is my fifth pregnancy I have 4 healthy children. When I wiped on Sunday night there was some bright red blood (no clotting). This happened twice. Through the night, just had brown when I wiped and through-out yesterday too. I went to the doc and he said it was good that it was "Old blood" (no new blood he saw). I never had bleeding with any of the others.

He sent me for an ultrasound (4wks and 6 days preg. from LMP). They didn't see a thing! No sac or anything. He did explain that it is very early for an ultrasound. It was a vaginal U/S. She said my uterus looked thick though. I guess that's good.

I am worried that it may be an ectopic preg. How can I know??? I went for blood yesterday (ck HCG level) and will go back tomorrow (Wed.) and then see the doc on Monday....MONDAY...seems like an eternity to wait....any thoughts? Similar situation anyone? Please write soon! :)Thanks!!! So worried. I am curious to know how you're doing 2boysmamma...I HOPE WELL!!!!

I am 5 wks and 5 days pregnant.  I have had 1 miscarrage (miscarriage) before my 2 children that I have now.  I have been having cramping for 2 days and started bleeding this morning and have been bleeding steadily for the whole day.  I have noticed some really small clots but nothing big.  But my cramping is just as bad as a normal men. cycle.  I am going to get my blood drawn tomorrow morning to find out if my levels are normal, whatever that means.  It's amazing that no matter how many times you are pregnant each one seems to be a mystery.  I am so worried to find out that this is another miscarrage (miscarriage).  I hope that everything will remain okay.  Thanks to all of you sharing your stories about your bleeding and giving people like me hope.  HOllie
