Hello everyone I came aross tis web site early this morning and found that im not alone others women have concerns just as i do.
My LMP was on Dec18 and on Jan5 me and my boyfriend had unprotected sex ad on Jan11 i went to the ER for bad cramps and after a blood test i was told im about 1week pregnant. I then went to see my OB doc on Jan13 and she said the im about 1week pregnant and had my 1st sono for precaution but nothing was seen. About 1week later i had my 2nd blood test and my HCG levels are rising. On Jan23 had another blood test and HCG still rising as they should. On Jan26 had my 2nd sono and yes the baby sac was seen, but no heartbeat.  Now i have check several pregnancy web sites and they all say based on my LMP that im about 5 / 6 weeks pregnant depending what site, but when i went to the ER on Jan 11 i was only one week so im confused.  If i go by what the ER & OB doc say i would only be about 3 / 4 weeks and wouldnt it be a little to early toeven hear a heart beat, but what if i am 5 / 6 weeks as all the web site say then should they hear a heartbeat by now.  I have not had any cramping since the day i went to the ER.  I think im getting alittle to big too soon. I have notice a white discharge but only when i go to the bathroom and they notice that at the ER and with the cramping they thought it might be in the tubes, but thats not the case.  Im so worried about this.  My boyfriend who when we found out wanted me to term the pregnancy, but after we talk and he really gave it some thought is now very happy. Im so afraid something may be wrong what should i do

I would definately not get worried or stress out.  If you and your BF had sex on that date then you would only be about 3 1/2 weeks. Thats way to early to see anything on ultrasound.  It sounds like your progressing well, so be positive and wait a few more weeks.  This is definately not a time to not get stressed.  Keep your head up and be positive:)  I'll be thinkin about you!

I'm sorry, I have a correction, I meant to say 5 weeks.  You would have only been 5 weeks on the 26th,  and again that is really to eary to hear a heartbeat, however since they can see a sack that is great.  The best time to hear a heartbeat is around 6 1/2 weeks-7 weeks.  But it can be later for others, due to various reasons like later conception or a tilted uterus. It's different for every pregnancy. Stay positive: )

I agree with the other ladies sounds likeyou are progressing naturaling, stress can cause real problems. I know that being what sounds like your first preg. can be very scary and exciting all in one. are body's do very strange things, it's okay. I will keep you in my prayers.

thanks you ladies for your kind words.  This is all so confusing how do they come up with dates like that.  How is it on Jan11 when i went to the ER i was one week pregnant and now 2weeks later im 5weeks i just dont understand any of this.  Im trying to stay calm about this but when your Doc tells you there no heartbeat you just cant help to worry.  I loved to belive that everything is ok, but is that just wish full thinking.  I mean this pregnancy was not planed, but we both are happy about it. My breast and belly and growing i mean im not for certain but all this just seem like its happening a little too fast.  I hope on this Thursday when i go for my 3rd sono I can hear some good news.  Maybe i should have ask the tech who did the sono question im not certain of anything that i should be doing

dont forget to start counting your preg. weeks on the first day of your LMP.  eventhough you didn't concieve just that day, that is the start of your 40 weeks.  the girls are right.  sometimes you dont hear the heartbeat till a tad later.  i wish drs/tech's would not say..oh there is no heartbeat and send you home.  this is not helpful at all.  they should tell you why you might be too early to see one.  you will probably hear it at your next appointment.  dont stress about your size, it seems that i cant fit into my pants as soon as i get my bfp.  :)  everyone's body is different.  if you are very small, your tummy might start to feel pudgy early.  good luck to you, and a healthy 9 months.  im glad your bf is happy about being a dad.  that is great.

When they said you were only 1 week preg they meant you had just gotten preg 1 week ago. That would have made you 3 weeks pregnant since the weeks start at your last period and not when you ovulate. You probably won't see a heartbeat till around 6-7 week so you have no reason to worry. You will probably see it at your next sonogram.

ladies thanks again for your help.  I now understand about the preg weeks thing anyway.  I wish Thursday was here already i cant take this waiting, not knowing what his happing with my body & my BF try to calm me down but it just feels like he does not understand and that he just brushing the no heartbeat to the side as he goes on with his daily duties, but ye its killing me. I really do hope you ladies are right and that it is too soon.  Are there any questions anyone can think of that i should ask the tech on Thursday instead of me just laying there this time

Everytime I went to the U/S I would ask how big in centimeters the baby was and how far along the computer thought I was. I asked if the yolk was formed right. Then I would go home and read in my book or on the internet at what size the baby should be for those weeks. I know its only an estimate and an average, but most people can tell when something's wrong. I told my doctor's that my son was getting too bog with my first and they said he wasn't coming for about 3 -4 weeks. He came a few days later. Women know their bodies. If you worried ask if you can make your MD appt right after the U/S that way the MD will have to read it right away and give you a prelimary test result.

Heard from my doctor today she said my HCG levels are still rising there now 19,073 which is good she says with that she should be able to hear a heartbeat with this next U/S
What if they dont hear it what should i do?
I know i should not think like that, but i cant help it.
I wish it was Thursday already

ok honey it is way way way t soon to see a baby or a heart beat im 26 weeks pregnet and had a sono at 5 weeks didnt see anything but a sac not even a baby!!!! i was so worrid but i saw the baby at 11 weeks and heard the heart beat at 10 so dont worrie its my second first angel is in heaven lost at 6 weeks dont worrie everything is fine relax or youll upset the baby im also a high risk pregnancy dont worrie ill pray for you!!

Hi. Here is my history.....My DH and I have been trying to have a baby since Nov, 2002. I got preg for the 1st time in May, 2004 after SEVERAL rounds of clomid and miscarried at 6 weeks. I continued on Clomid and got preg the 2nd time in Oct, 2004 and miscarried at 5 weeks. I had a D&C in Jan, 2005 because Dr. thought he saw polyps on my HSG test. There was nothing....had a D&C for nothing. He increased my Clomid to 150mg Days 3-7. I got preg in Aug, 2005 and miscarried at 6 weeks again. This time he started me on PRogesterone Supps and low dose aspirin but they didn't seem to help. Got pregnant again in Oct, 2005 and miscarried at 7 weeks and saw nothing in the uterus at my 7 week US. Dr thought it was ectopic and wanted me to take methotrexate shot to abort pregnancy. Miscarried on my own the day before I was scheduled to take the injection at 7-1/2 weeks. In December, we had an accident because I was supposed to be seeing a fert specialist around the 1st of Feb and I got pregnant without any medication. On Jan 17th when my cycle was late I got a BFP on a home test and called the Dr right away to have my blood work done. My hcg was 76.5 and progesterone was 12. He right away told me to use 2 50mg prog supps a day. A week later my progesterone had dropped to 8.8. He then started me on PRogesterone in Oil injections (once/day) and Lovenox injections (once/day). We saw the baby and the fluttering heartbeat last Wednesday, Feb 8th and were so excited and thought this was it after 5 unexplained m/cs we finally did it. We just had a 2nd US yesterday Wed, Feb 15th and the Dr couldn't find anything in my uterus but only looked via transvaginal US for a few seconds and right away said he thought it was another m/c. Has anyone ever seen a heartbeat one week and then a week later saw nothing? I have no cramps, or bleeding and have had no bleeding since my last period. I don't know what to think anymore. I am hoping that he was not thorough in his US yesterday because our appt was so late in the day.....Is there still hope? Please respond! I am on pins and needles worrying about this one. This would be my first baby and 6th pregnancy since May of 2004.  I am currently 8 weeks, 5 days.  1st US was done 7 weeks, 4 days and 2nd US was done 8 weeks, 4 days.  LMP was Dec 17th.
