Just wondering what you guys would do. I have a 4 y.o dd. and a new girl on the way.
I have outfits from my 4 y.o. that have never been worn and still with tags some of them....but they are like size 4's....that is quite a wait in my book....I have 3s as well.
Would you save them for the new baby? Or just give them away. I do have an option to give them to my hubby's 2 y.o. sister who is out in another country.....they will fit her much sooner.
What is your opinion on it?
I just love some of the outfits, but do I really need them this soon?
I have a friend who gave her all her sons baby clothes away to a cousin 3 years ago with the promise that when she got pregnant again she would send them back. Now my friend is pregnant any day now with another littleLittle noses decongestant Little tummys baby boy, and her cousin has told her that she has thrown or given all the clothes away. I am not saying the same thing could happen to you, but that maybe if atleast keep the outfits you really love just in case you don't get the clothes back in time you still have your favorites to put on your new baby girl.
if you have the room i would save them. before you know it she will be able to fit into them and it will be exciting to put on an outfit that you love. also, buying clothes for a littleLittle noses decongestant Little tummys girl can get expensive b/c everything is so cute. if you already have cute clothes i say keep 'em!
I have a DS age 7, and a DD age 4, I've saved all their clothes, except when it get's holes or dirty to the point where it doesn't come clean.
I'm now having my third, another DD - I'm getting induced June 6th. We've decided that we are done having kids after her, so I just recently sold and gave away the majority of my boys clothes, I still have all my daughters clothes for this baby.
I think it's a good idea to save them, as long as you have the room. Believe me, after 7 years, room was getting tight, but I'm glad I saved them just in case I might be having a boy.
A couple things I discovered after saving clothes:
I have two sons who are 6 years apart. When I got out the saved boy clothes for my second son, some of them were very stained---stains that were not showing up AT ALL when they were washed and put in storage.
The other thing I had a problem with is that the elastic in some of the clothes was rotten--like in littleLittle noses decongestant Little tummyssweatSweat electrolytes test Sweat test Sweating Sweating - absent pants.
BUT if your outfits are mostly new, you won't have the stain problem--maybe only the elastic problem. But I also noticed it only happened in the cheaper clothes---so some elastic must be better qualty than others. Just depends.
I too am a pack rat and would keep them but my hubby would say keep the ones you love and get rid of the others. My older sis has 8,6,4,4 and is sendin all her old clother to me ...some I bought for my niece with the hopes I would get to seee them one day :O)
I kept all mine from the first (3 years betewwn them), same issue with some of the seasons being a bit out but I have saved a packet on if I had to buy all new. The ones Sam has outgrown have gone away into storage again as we have not decided if our family is complete or not.
Andi, I have been giving James 8oz of breast milk every day since I posted, his cold and bad chest was cleared up in 3 days, I was amazed, he nearly always needs antibiotics for his chest and his colds always last more than 2 weeks, maybe it was just coincidence but then again maybe not!
She will fit in the clothes so quickly! I would save the really nice or expensive things and things with tags. Keep your faves.......the rest you could sell or loan out! :)
I would kep the clothes you love. Also if they were born in different seasons--you don't know how they will grow and may fit into everything at the right time.--I just had to get rid of all my 24 months/2t clothes for my little guy had a sprot and is in 3t's--so he is almost the same size as my four year old--I think by the end of summer they will be the same size--so ican happen so quickly where they grow--hang on to them and then have a huge rummage sale at the end if you have the room.
On another note if anyone lives close to the upper peninsula of michigan I am having a rummage sale with all my baby boy clothes and also my crib and toddler bed. If anyone would be interested.
keep the ones you really love or the most expensive items or quality items....I keep all my DS baby clothes couldn't part with them and now my new DS is wearing some of his big bubba's things....I had to get rid of a lot of things though....formula stains that don't appear now will show up later...weird but they do.....I took the things I didn't use that were in good condition to charity organizations....also many churchs take things to Mexico as part of their mission trips....mine does anyway....
i love hand me downs. sad enough my son is larger than my friends kids so i give his clothes to them lol. having a boy they go through clothes like mad!! maybe girls can too.
