Yeast Infection

by apyelizabeth, Nov 14, 2004 12:00AM
My step daughter is three and has had a yeast infection going on three months now.  Myself and my husband aren't quite sure how to treat it.  Is there any specific diaper rash cream that could help?

THREE MONTHS?????????

Have you taken her to the doctor????????

That poor little thing has to be suffering........

What did the doctor say???????

There is no diaper ointment that will work..........will only make it worse!!!!!

She needs antibiotics.....ASAP!!!!!!!!

I can't imagine ANY doctor letting it go on so long.

No woman would want to deal with it for a week much less three months and she is just a helpless 3 year old.

She needs to go into the doctor first thing tomorrow morning.....and if she has already been then she needs to go back!!!!!!!!!!

Hello, i have read in a few articles that raw garlic is very good for yeast ionfection. If you take a clove and crush it and then cut it into bits and let your step daughter swallow it with water about twice a day if she can. It has no side effect. I hope she gets better.

My daughter had a yeast infection when she was 2. I am pretty sure, if I remember correctly that she needs antibiotics.

does she take bubble baths??  you know those aren't good for little girls, they can bring on yeast infections.  also i agree that she needs to see a doctor if she hasn't already, however yogurt is good to put back the good bacteria that a yeast infection overwhelms.

She should be seen by a Dr.. My dd was given a prescription cream when she had a yeast infection. If I remember correctly it was Nystatin (it only cost like $10)

qw.......You are probably right about the name "Nystatin" my pedi gave me the same thing when my son had thrush....it is also yeast.
apyelizabeth........It's just a cream and I'm sure not too expensive although you do need a prescription. I'm not sure about the cost because all my meds are covered 100%, sorry.
