Yeast infection during pregnancy

Yeast infection during pregnancy

I have a yeast infection and I am 26 weeks pregnant. My doc didn't give me any medicine when I was in hospital for pre-term labor so I had to get it on my own. Was told  in prev pregnancies not to use monistat 1 or the 3 day because it was too strong that I had to use the 7 day version. This doc said to get the one day version "IF" it was bothering me, if it wasn't burning or itching then not to bother. Isn't a yeast infection dangerous if not cured when pregnant and isn't the 1 day tooo strong? Please help.

Hi, sorry I cant comment on what to use but I also thought it was dangerous during pregnancy and that you needed to get it seen to.
Good luck

I just wanted to let you know that I just finished my medicine for a yeast infection. I am 23 weeks and the doctor told me to get Monistat 3 so that I didn't have to use it for 7 days. The nurse told me that I could get the one day treatment but said the 3 day would probably be better. I hope this helps you.

well I dont know about yeast infections but I m 16 weeks and just got over a urinary track infection the doctor gave me antibiotics (macrobid ) the dr said it was safe and goes straight to your bladder, and to always get that treated right away because it can cause pre term labor or miscarriage if you are to early along ...Just thought I would share for all the PG's in the house = )

Hi,
I have an 8 year old son and when I
was pregnant with him I got my a normal period the first month. And didn't even find out I was pregnant until I was almost 8 weeks along due to my period.
Then in September of last year, I had a miscarriage (also had
a normal period)
Now, about 10 days ago I got my period and it to me seemed normal, lasted about 4-5 days. But 3-4 days ago, my breasts started feeling VERY tender, I have alittle pinching feeling in my abdomen, my lower back hurts alittle bit, when I start to feel hungry I also start to feel sick (I gag alot)sometimes I gag not for hunger, also I have a terrible itch on and in my vagina, like a yeast infection.
I want to think I'm pregnant again and due to I got my period the first time around with my son, I think it may be possible. But my husband was SO heart broken when I lost our second baby, that I dont want to tell him anything right now until I know for sure whats happening with me. I dont want to use the cream to help the infection because I have always heard that's not good if you are pregnant. I dont want to take a home pregnancy test, because they do not work on me (didn't the first or second time). I was told by a friend who is a nurse that blood tests are the way to go, but you should wait several weeks to have one because of the hormone level. I just dont know what to do.
Do I sound pregnant? Should I wait to tell my husband anything? Should I go buy the yeast infection cream?
HELP!!!!!!

Blood tests can detect pregnancy as early as 6 days after conception. I would go to the doctor as ask for one. You can aslo ask what would be the safest course of treatment for the yeast infection.

Good Luck
