Yeast infection...anyone prone to getting them and how to help them

Hello All,

I believe I have a  yeast infection working it's way...ugh.....I think it is from lately I have noticed I am sweating more and my underwear are sweaty....one of the factors I'm sure to help it along.

Anyone suffer from these and any helpful NATURAL remedies to help stop it?

I do not want to take medicine as I'm highly sensitive to yeast infection medicine and it causes more discomfort than good.

Any help would be appreciated.

Brought a yogurt today to eat and will buy some organic yogurt tonight after work....will also buy some cranberry juice...but I don't think the juice really helps...maybe the urine...

Any assistance would be appreciated.
I have my MD appt on Friday, so will follow up with her as well.....

OH hi!!! that's nice!

You made me not think about my ITCH for about a second!!! hehe!

I'm really feeling crappy...ugh.  Beside for the itch, my freakin pants keep falling down...they are maternity and fall below my crotch and aggravate me to no end....I just felt like screaming this morning and I had to take my dd to school and then go to work...needless to say I was 1/2 hr. late for work and I did NOT care......I think maybe my belly is just not holding my pants up quite yet....and they are jeans, so the drag....

Anyhow, maybe it's hormones, but I'm sure this damn itch isn't helping.

But thank you for the HELLO!!!!!  I'm glad somebody cares!!!!

JT

I hope you are fine!!

HI there , i suffered a yeast infection in my 14th week of pregnancy , i know how misereable it is !!!
Anyway , my midwife advised me to get monostat , in insert form , which i did and it cleared up straight away , but i know you said that you are sensitive to this so ..., she also recommended the natural active yoghurt , to eat and to also "put in there " !!!!!! And .....(ive really never heard of this so dont be alarmed !)   ...she suggested peeling 2 or 3 garlic cloves and popping them inside for a few hours when relaxing at night !!!!!! I didnt try this personally but she says something in the garlic fights with the extra yeast bacteria ....or something !!???? They are a very good practice of midwives and i love their approach to my care so i trust their suggestions , but like i say , the monostat cleared it up pretty quck for me so i never tried the other things , but i maybe would have !!   Oh ..and she also said when you and dh are sitting around late at night , sit in your nightie and go commando , with your legs apart and "let it breath " !!!!!! LOL
Hope you get fixed up regardless , let us know how you get on !! xx

sorry this is so graphic

I am PRONE to yeast infections even when im not pregnant. Pretty much anytime anything gets too close to "her", i get one.  One thing i do is use milk to "wash". lmao.  Not wash really, but I will go to the bathroom and sit on the toilet, you have to sit your butt as far back as you can then lean back and kinda tilt "it" up. Then pour (i have a mug designated for this) milk from a cup.  Pour from the top so it runs (this is so graphic) down your clit and continues down from there.  Some of the milk will get inside and thats kinda the point.  Before i pour though, I usually take tissue (or a washcloth) and dip it in the milk and kinda stick it just a little, this will remove the yeast that tends to gather at the entrance.  Try taking a mirror standing up and maybe put one leg on the sink so you can see what im talking about (if you havent seen it).  Also be sure to wipe the yeast that has completely made its way out and is hiding in the crevices of your "goodies".  Thats the stuff that makes it itch and i promise you as soon as you remove all the yeast that you can see, you will feel a lot better.

I dont even do the milk too much anymore.  I sometimes use a warm wash cloth and just use like 3 or 4 fingers to "dig in" and remove what i can.  A lot comes out and actually keeps me from using medicine for every one i get.  But im use to them a couple of times a month so it can get costly.  But I recommend using the milk, there something in the milk I think that helps it.

Oh, I've heard yogurt works too, but cant bring myself to do all this with yogurt.  However my doctor said eating yogurt everyday, helps maintain the right balance of yeast and prevents infections.

my sister had yeast infection during her pregnancy, and the doctor did not recommend any med. but he told her to wash as much as she can and to wear big underwear (not tight). but i heard a lot that baking soda help, she tried it and it did help. you have to put a little bit in a bowl with warm water and wash the infected part. hope this will help. that is natural and did help my sister. but listen only a little bit with water. ok.

unfortunately there isn't much you can do. I've tried everything so far. I never knew what a yeast infection was up until feb. I got 2 within the time of a month and since then, I get at least once a month. I've tried eating yogourt once everyday, tried not eating as much bread or things with alot of yeast, washing/drying the area of the vagina really well, wearing cotton undies, etc and so far NOTHING's really worked. My doctor has told me to take the monistate for 7 days. Now I buy the prefilled applicators for 7 days and usually after 3 days I am good.. so far going on a month and a half without one but i am probably prone to get another soon. So a box lasts me like twice now...

Best of luck though.. I was told there's nothing, when you're pregnant, the hormones just take over:( Unfortunately...
