Zoloft & Pregnancy

Is anyone here ttc or pregnant and on zoloft? I am ttc and my gp gave me a presciption for it, she didn't say much about it to me, just that she wanted me on it for only a couple of months to help me deal with all my issues I have had this year. I haven't spoke to my ob/gyn yet and the internet says there have not been any conclusive studies on the effects. Does anyone have any insight on it? I haven't filled my presciption yet, I doubt I will, I am just curious about it. Thanks

I would do whatever your docter tells you. If they feel you need this medication than yes i would take it. However i would ask your obgyn about this before you try and get pg. It is possible that they can give you something if this is not compatible with taking during pregnancy. I suffered form post pardom with my first and my obgyn is going to put me on an anti depressant with this one, but not until my thrid trimester. Defeinitly talk with your docter. God Bless!

I did my whole pregnancy on a light dose of Zoloft and the baby turned out just fine.  My nurse advisor says she knows a lot of babies who were born to women who took Zoloft.  Your call, it's a class C drug I think.  Annie

I did just the same as anniebrooke.... I took zoloft during my pregnancy and my DD turned out just wonderfully. They didn't want me to breastfeed on it, but I took it during pregnancy, and things went fine.

I'm actually so surprised that they said not to BF on Zoloft. I was put on celexa by my GP for PPD and when I went to speak to a psychiatrist who deals only in PPD she said her 1st choice is Zoloft for moms who BF. I confirmed that with the Hospital for Sick Childen.
