abnormal preg or twins?

3 days ago at 5w3d i went to the er with some cramping but no bleeding. They did u/s and came back with something in uterus but couldnt find fetal pole or yolk sac but blood work came back with hcg at 15000. Double what it should be. So they said im prob miscarrying or an ab preg. I went for a follow up yesterday and that blood work came back with hcg at 25000 and progesterone at 19 and 20 is great. There is also no chance of ectopic. But i have been informed that hcg that is double could mean twins (very common in my fam) and prob wont show up on u/s yet. The dr wants a d&c right away but i want to wait to be sure. Anyone have advice?

We didn't see a heart beat till 9 weeks and they were trying to get me to do a d&c at 6 weeks. I ask my ob if it would hurt to wait till 9 weeks and she said no so that's what we decided to do. Good luck and I hope everything works out.

Ok thank you so much. I was thinking of asking my dr if it was safe to wait. Im not even 6 weeks yet and i figured it was just too soon.
