after my miscarriage

by genafire, Jan 16, 2005 12:00AM
i miscarried  2 days ago after a four day process of extremely heavy bleeding and severe cramping just before i passed cleanly a ten week old fetus. i was told to take a day or two of dedrest  the bleeding would stop and cramping would go away. well right before i actually passed it, suddenly my abdomen  got like twice the size it was  and when i would drink water or eat anything  almost instanly i would bulge in my stomach and feel like i was peeing but it was blood instead. i told them at the er  so they said no water...well its been two days and im still very noticeablly very blated  and distended  in my whole belly  . im still experienceing constant cramping mostly in my back and upper stomach like a fist  tightning i get dizzy everytime i move am still bleeding  and shedding tissue clumps  if i do anything at all ive hardly drank anything or eaten because i feel like im gonna pop...could i be bleeding internally and thats why  this uncomfortably bloated stomach wont go away its the weekend and im not getting any  return calls from my doctor

That is terrible that you are getting no calls from your doctor.  I'm so sorry for your loss and this pain you are having to endure.  The doctor should do a ultrasound to make sure that you have passed all tissue.  Any remaining tissue could cause an infection.  You may need an antibiotic treatment.  There is a possibility that something else is going on as well.  Have you ever had any previous D&C's?  Sometimes a D&C can perforate the uterus.  That means a hole in the uterus.  Then, with something like this going on, maybe tissue seeping into the intestines?  That is something I have heard of before.  I hope that is not the case.  Keep us posted.

You need to go to the ER if you are very worried...they will do an ultrasound on you. My miscarriage experience was very similiar to yours....cramping and "peeing blood" and all that. I still bled and passed clots for a week after, but I didn't have the distended belly thing so maybe you should get it checked out. I am so sorry for your loss. i know how you feel.

Your symptoms are concerning to say the least.  You should go to the ER if you can't get some reasonable attention from your doctor right away.
