Usually an arm implant is effective for three years. However, in some women the hormone levels can fluctuate in the second or third year to an extent that there can be withdrawal bleeds in between. If you are in doubt, its best to get a blood test for HCG estimation. If it is negative, consult your gynecologist and find out whether you need a change in implant. If blood test is positive, then you are pregnant and may need to remove the implant and get a D and C done if you do not want a baby now. Take care!
