america has the second highest infant mortality rate worldwide??

So I watched the documentary by rikki lake called business of being born...it was pretty much to promote midwifes and home births but it had some seriously interesting and scary facts, especially a very very good example of petocin being abused with epidural...its worth watching. ig you google business of being born online free, you will find a 6 part series from youtube on another site(there are two I started with the first one but had to use the link for ovguide to finish because the first skipped on part2/6). thought I would share for those who feel you cant hack birth without the epi. I have expirenced without it and the only part that really hurts is the head passing after your golden. besides the epi only helps with contractions, which to me someone who does not get period cramps can only compare them to running cramps to be exact. your feeling that head rip through regardless. and as far as me wanting my elective c-section, I have learned that it will put my twins at greater risk of apnea and breathing issues, as well as a lack of chemical cocktail that really bonds mom and baby, which is also interfered with when having meds during delivery...very interesting. almost makes me wonder if the majority of wome who experience postpartum deppression are women who had c-sections or meds...or it the crazies or bad moms are also women who have lacked this bond...It would be an interesting study thats for sure. and also, im curious about the documentry saying less than 1% of midwifes deliver in hospitals, so I want to know who has been delivered by a cnm? My son was and she was amazing, also has anyone seen this documentry and what were your thoughts?

America can keep babies alive long enough to count them as babies (I think that's 2 days) before they die.

So yes.  We have a high infant mortality rate.  Because infants that wouldn't survive an hour in other countries make it to the 48 hour mark here.

So,  bizarrely,   we appear to have a high infant mortality rate.  In reality,  we have an overwhelmingly high infant survival rate for the first two days, due to advance medical technology.

What appears true is often a lie.

i was thinking also because we have to count them a person after I think 23 weeks gestation, not 100% on the facts but if you stillbirth then the have to give it a birth cert. maybe they count that in their statistics?? trust me i would rather deliver here than anywhere, i just thought it mind blowing to hear.
