any one else trying to concieve(conceive)- and know about ovulation?

Well, I just started the whole "ttc" thing, checking for ovulation signs, marking things on a calendar etc...  I have to say it really is all very stressful. I know that I concieved my other children right after my period, but I was much younger then and decided to do this by the book this time. Well Ive read up on ovulation and all, and I have to say ,If Im not pregnant in 2 weeks, I am defititly not going to do all this charting and planning again, Its really annoying because Im starting to realize that so much of this information is so contradictory anyway! Is it true that your ovualtory period is 14-16 days before you next period? Because I have a consistent 30 day cycle I really feel more fertile right after my period. Well like I said If im not preggers , Im not going to chart next time, but I would really like to hear from someone who know about ovulation.
