anyone ever had their membranes stripped???? and did it work???

Hey i had my drs appt today. Im 33 weeks and 3 days, well anyways i was talking to him about getting my membranes stripped when im farther along in may and he said he likes to do it at 39 weeks...which im due may 27, but the 39th week mark is May 20th. Have any of you ever had this done and actually had it work? Cuz i've heard for some it works and for some it doesnt? I really dont want to be induced with anything else...I just figured stripping of the membranes still gives the baby a chance to decide when to come but yet speed things up a lil. 4 days after im due in may my fiance has a stag party to go too and then the following weekend after that....6/7/08 is my fiances sisters wedding...so i really dont want to be pregnant then...lol my luck if i went over due i'd go in labor one of those 2 days....please girls respond back!!!!

I had it done with 3 of my pregnancies (a few times) it did not work with any.

I got mine streped  at 37 almost 38 wks.It hurt ALOT.I bled a little  & 3 days later went to the L&D & was 5-6.IT worked for me.Good luck :)

I had it done with my second pregnancy and it didn't work but hurt like HECK!!!  I don't recommend it!

i had it done with my first and it didnt work either, the doctor said " you WILL go into labor within 36 hours!" two weeks later i finally did,

i had it with my first and it worked. i was being induced, and the stripping got a big jump on things. i just have to mention that it really does hurt! good luck!

Do you think it's worth it to have it done at 40 weeks??
I am considering doing it at my 40 week appt (Monday) cause i just can't take being pregnant anymore!!
