at what age?

at what age?

hey ladies, I just have a few questions on your past experiences... If u can't tell I am a 1st time mommy, sorry.   1st at what age should babies be sitting up on there own, what age should they be able to roll over and what age should I start spoon feeding cereal?  Jace is about 4 1/2 months and can hold his head up great but still needs help sitting up without falling over, he hasn't even tried to roll over and I've just recently, like the past 2 days, been able to get him to lay on his tummy for about 5 mins each time before he starts crying.. and I've started feeding him cereal by spoon already because he's actually doing pretty good with that, just didn't know if it was to early..
Thanks for all the help so glad i have found this community!

My baby isn't that old yet but I remember that my niece didn't start sitting up on her own until about 6 1/2 - 7 months old. About 4-5 months is when they start rolling over and its fine to start spoon feeding at about 4 months. You might want to add a little bit of formula to the cereal so its lighter and easier to get down or you could upset his tummy. Hope this helps at least a little.

I add either baby food (1) or formula.. formula seems less messier at this stage, lol

dd starting sitting at 5 months. she rolled belly to back late- occasionally prior to 5 months but regularly at 5 months. she has yet to roll back to belly. she never minded tummy time, but she also loves laying on her back and playing with her feet. so if i put her on her back, she won't try to roll. tummy time ends quickly now that she can go to her back.
we started solids at 5 1/2 months. i wanted to make sure she could handle it before her 6 month check-up in case we needed to discuss it with the ped since she has a history of feeding problems. otherwise we would've waited til 6 months.

my ds just turned 5 months yesterday...he rolls over all the time..drags himself either on his back or on his tummy, has his second tooth coming out...he cannot sit up on his own without falling over because he's way too energetic...he has been eating pablum for 2 weeks now...he was 4 1/2 months when began...obviously...uhm adding cereal to a bottle to thicken his milk should be avoided..too many people do it and it's a choking hazard...besides, when you add cereal to a bottle you also need a bigger whole, which could also upset their stomache really bad...depending on how big he is and what your dr is saying...i think depending on the child 4-6 months can be a good time to begin cereal..the only thing with rice and barley cereal it can either constipate OR make their poops harder..just less poops...alot of people often say if a baby is constipated from cereal it's because it wasn't meant to be..but my pediatrician said you need to wait at least a week...so who knows instead of getting advice on here..its nice but always check with your child's doctor as well...:) best of luck..i will not be starting baby food well veggies for another 2-3 weeks...and i will be upping ds at 3 table spoons of pablum a day...morning noon and supper time...also one big thing you want to avoid the reason why they dont give children cereal before bed is because they could do an indigestion which they could throw up in their sleep or be up all night...bt that too all depends on the child...i dont know...everyo

my girl(now is 9.5mths old) sat up at around 4-5months old, rolled over when she was about 6months  loved cereal at 3months. eats reg big peoples food now, (dr says as long as she loves it give it to her) only has 2teeth and has been crawling since 8months. will walk around the furniture/tables but cant stand by herself yet. just give it time. my aunts baby is 11 months old and she doesent crawl it is a slugg looking thing it is so cute. will not eat and has 8 teeth, and my best friend's little girl is 10.5months old and is just learning to crawl real good and sit up good.
*so everyone learns at there own speed. just keep doing what you are doing. it will pay off then you will be saying "NO DONT TOUCH THAT". or "GET IN HERE" dont rush it what ever you do.  good luck hun'

edward was sitting up on his own, id say between 5 and 6 months, but he was not very mobile. it was like all of a sudden at 6 months, almost 7 months, he was just doing everything! he went from sitting up and rolling one way to rolling back and forth, crawling, standing in the crib and got 4 teeth. like all within 2 weeks.

we started cereal at 4 months, but just to introduce the spoon really. he wasn't on a steady schedule of solids until 6 months which is when we started doing baby cereal and formula mized with baby food fruit once per day and baby food veggies once per day. 5 months isnt too early. if she is enjoying it, then keep offering it to her, it may make the transition to solids that much easier.

good luck...
