babies heartbeat true or false

does anyone think the heartbeat  has anything to do with the gender of the babies?

I have heard that a high heart beat indicates girl which was true in my case but I doubt thisis a scientifically proven theory

not a proven theory, but can be fun.  both of my boys had heart rates in the low to mid 140s

babies heartrates will vary, they will be lower while they are sleeping, and higher when they are awake....i totally believed the boy/girl theory, had a girl...HR always in the 160's, then knew my next was a boy because the HR was 140's...baby girl #2

Nope, i think it's just an old wives tale.  I've had 5 babies so far , 2 were girls, 3 were boys, the heartbeats did not follow suit with what the wives tale says.  It also depends on gestational age when you get the heartbeat.  Early on the heartbeat is going to be much higher, in the 170's to 180's but the further along you get the heartrate decreases until it evens out in the 130's to 140's or possibly 150's for some.

Wasn't the case for my son.  The heart rate was always higher when I was pregnant.  I asked my dr about that and he said the fetal heart rate has more to do with the mother's hydration rate than anything else.
