baby measurements in 3rd trimester

I am suppose to be 32 weeks preggo but at my appt last week my baby measeured 34 weeks.... my doctor says that he will not let me go over 37 weeks so would he go by baby's measurements or his gest age????? I also have gest diabetes and he weighs close to 5lbs and my doctor will not let him get to big on acct of higher risk for c section

He's going to go by the gest age. I am getting induced at 37wks. My DD weighs close to 5lbs as well and I am 31 1/2wks. So don't feel too bad.

I bet the Dr. will go by the gestational age so that they are closer to term for the lung development.  Most Dr.'s won't induce before 39 weeks unless it is better for the mom and baby.  I did deliver a 10 lber. with my first vaginally, he dcame out fine, it can be done, but it's good to know your Dr. is looking out for you.  Congrats.

I'm measuring 2 weeks larger as well.....really 3 weeks for weight of baby....My boy was 3.3lbs at 28 weeks...

My Drs didn't mention me being induced early except for at 39 weeks.  I have to be induced due to being on bood thinners for a clotting disorder.

I think the Drs are more inclined to induce earlier at around 37 weeks for gestational diabetes....

I failed my 1 hr test and they said if I failed the 3 hr and with his size...they would move my induction up a week or so.....

I think they worry about what gestational diabetes can mean for mother/baby more than just the size of the baby.....

Good luck....My friend just delivered at 36 weeks and it was natural....her water broke....Her little girl was just fine...

I had lung maturity tests for my little one at 36 weeks.  So I wanted you ladies who are going to be induced at 37 to consider this.  My little ones lungs weren't ready, so please be sure to be tested before doing it at 37.
