baby not moving all morning, nervous - just need some reassurance:)

Afternoon all, (Or morning or night, depending where you are)
As most of you know, I am currently almost 5 months pg, and Ive been feeling little kicks for a about two weeks now.  Tiny little flutters I wouldnt even notice if this wasnt my third pg, but theyre there all the same.  Yesterday, my father in law was over and we had a huge fight.  Since I couldnt drown my sorrows and annoyance in a few beers, aI drank about half a bottle of diet coke and a few cups of coffee.  Well, by the time night rolled around I was really sick, I think with the flu, or an allergy attack or something, and i had no voice.  I never take any meds, even tylenol, while pg, but I was MISERABLE.  So I took a double dose of childrens dimetapp.  That equalls two tsps.  I know girls on here have said that they can take benedryl while pg, but I didnt hve any so I went with the dimetapp.  I looked on the internet and it said it was fine, but since I only felt the baby move once this morning, I looked again and found a site saying not to take it.  Does anyone have any info on this?  I know, you are probably all laughing at my inane question, just like my husband is, but I need a little reassurance and my dr. isnt available o Sundays, unless youre in labor.  Enjoy your Day!!!

I wouldn't stress about not feeling movements right now. You really only should be feeling consistent movements and counting kicks/movements at 28 weeks. At your stage, some women aren't even feeling the baby move at all. Try drinking a cup of OJ and lie down on your back and concentrate on feeling your little one. When in doubt though, call your doc or go to the er to get everything checked out.

You know what? During this last pregnancy I took alot of medication for things. When I would take Benedryl and unisom, the baby would not move much for the the rest of the night. I think the meds can make them drowsy and sleep more too. I would not worry about taking that one time. I am sure everything is fine.

If you don't want to feel so stupid, I'm about at the same point, and have been on "pelvic rest" including no sex, until about two weeks ago.  Dh and I finally had sex, and then I felt no baby movements.  I had to tell myself over and over and OVER that if having sex would hurt a baby, there would be no more humans in the world and no overpopulation etc. and I STILL felt like going in and insisting on an ultrasound.  So you are not alone in getting notions that rationally you know don't make sense.  Your little guy probably enjoyed an unusually sound sleep from the Dimetapp.

thanks you guys, I feel a lot better.  I felt a little kick a few minutes ago, but thats it.  Maybe the little guy is just taking a day off.
