After age 40 you have a much higher likelihood of chromosomally related problems with a baby born from your own eggs. It is also more unlikely that you will even get pregnant. So you could wind up spending a lot of time and money and pain on surgery to reconnect the tubes, and then either not get pregnant, or have a tubalEctopic pregnancy Gynecologic laparoscopy Tubal ligation Tubal ligation - series pregnancy, or have a child with problems. IVF with a donor egg would be the way to go, but it is very costly.
