babys movement at 19 1/2 weeks

by tiff27, Jun 15, 2006 12:00AM
I'm 19 1/2 weeks pregnant and I've felt little movements since 16 weeks last week the baby was very active I could feel her moving all the time and the past two days her activity has been slow. I had an u/s last week and everything was fine. Is this normal for the baby to be more active some days and not others? I'm probably freaking out for nothing but what are you thoughts..

I haven't felt mine move yet, but I do think that's normal.  As long as you are still feeling it move every hour or so you should be OK.  Put a call in if you are concerned.

i think mine was on and off up until just last week.  my dr said that there really isnt a consistent moving about until the 28th week and that was right on for me.  now i feel him all the time.  they say counting kicks after 28 weeks is good.  you should expect 10 to 20 in an hour. but remember they sleep too!!!  call your dr for reassurance.  i did at about 20 weeks and they let me come in and hear the heartbeat.

My baby has her lazy days and active days.  Yesterday she was lazy--maybe because I did not go to my gym and rested.  Today, I am painting her room, listening to music, and she is kicking right along to the beat of the music soo cute!   She seems to be really active every other day but I do know she moves every day a little even if only in morning and at night.  Her kicks are getting stronger now!  I am entering my 27th week.

I felt my baby move at 17 1/2 weeks for a few days then nothing for over a week.  i made doc appt. and they checked heart beat.  they said baby is moving as we are doing this you just cannot feel her yet.  Don't worry soon enough he or she will be moving soooo much. .it is wonderful.

I thnk that at the stage you are at, as long as you feel something it should be ok.  I would suggest having a nice big cup of coke, and then seewhat happens.  usually that gets them jumping around right away.  However, if you relly think somethig might be wrong, its best to call your dr and insist to be seen.  Better be seen for nothing than miss something important.

I agree with everyone else, it is pretty early to have consistent movements. I am running all day chasing after my 2 year old and 4 year old, unless he hiccups or I am actually able to sit and rest for any length of time, I don't notice his movements consistently. But at naptime and bedtime, he wakes up a bit and wiggles enough to feel him with my hand on my belly.

I am 18 weeks and finally started to feel my baby over the weekend.  YEAH!  I have to really pay attention in order to feel my little fish swimming in my tummy.  Ususally when I lie down before bed or before I get up.  I don't think you should worry since I don't feel it all the time either.

If I was ever in doubt, I would eat something and lay down for a while and that usually got her going. When you are up and active, the movements lull babies and you won't feel them as much as when you lay down and get still. But I wouldn't worry until you are 28 weeks and don't feel movement for a while. Then towards the end the movements get less as they are crowded more and more with less room to slug you. :)

I'm almost 28 days on my 4th baby. They do have active days and not so active days. You can do kick counts but they typically don't have you do those until 26 weeks and after. You can try drinking something like Oj or cold water and lying on your left side, WHEN SHES AWAKE, and should feel 10 kicks in an hour. But yes, mine just yesterday had one of her "lazy days" but today shes back to moving! Good luck sounds like everything is going great!
