Maybe that is your normal pre-o temp. After O you will more than likely be 98.0 and on up.

BBTing will not tell you when you're going to ovulate but rather when you already have.  Your temp will drop below your coverline (sounds like yours is 97.7) and then spike above 97.7 the following day.  That drop and spike will indicate you've ovulated.  Good luck and happy temping!

Do your bbt tracking on www.fertilityfriend.com.  It's a great site and tells you alot.  Your temp should drop right befor you O and then spike rather high letting you know that you did O.  If you know around the time you should O looking at your temps you should get a feel for when you O.  I know I learned a lot from keeping my bbt's.  Good Luck!

Just wanted to add that not all women get an ovulation drop in temp (dip). Some months I did and some I did not. The month I got preggers I did not have one.

I am going thru that now. This is my 3rd month temping and every month I see a drop just before I O but this month my temps are steady. I was thinking that I wouldn't O. Thanks for posting that sometimes you don't see a dip - that makes me feel better.

As well as taking your BBT every morning its a good idea to take notice of your cm. Afew days before ovulation it will start to increase right to ovulation untill it becomes like egg white, as soon as you ovulate it will disappear altoghter. Although not all women experince this every month.

Your temp should go up at o but if it is high before this could be you have a slight cold or such and this can really effect your temp, even if you feel well.

Like others have said not every one has a drop in temp before a rise at o. I don't think I ever did and I took my temp for months before conceiving.

The only trouble I have with checking my cm is my DH and I try to do it every other day until I see my temp go up and then I stop but it seems that I see cm everyday because of the semen that comes out and it is hard to tell if it is semen or EWCM(sorry tmi).

can any one clearify this. but i heard if you take a mutli vitamin or prenatal vitimin that it could help your chances of concieving.

Nicki, it is a good thing to take pre-nantals at least 1 month prior to ttc. It will not help you get pregnant faster but it does make you healthier and gives you a nice boost of folic acid which is very important in the first trimester.
