been spotting for a week and now I'm being referred to a specialist

I'm almost 18 weeks and I've been spotting and visiting the dr's office more than I'd like.  He wants me to see a specialist for level 2 u/s.  I'm going tomorrow and very worried that they'll see something bad...grrr...anyone went through this?

I had a huge amount of bleeding this pregnancy at 10 weeks and it turned out to be a bleed below the placenta.  It stopped and I am now 16 weeks.  I am in a high risk pregnancy because of incompetent cervix and had a very difficult first pregnancy. I know how scary it can be to be constantly going in.  I had weekly appt all through my first pregnancy and was in the hosptital 10 different times with two surgeries.  I spent a total of 30 days in the hospital!  It can be nervewracking when you constantly feel something is wrong.  Try to keep up hope.  If everything else is good, chances are the specialist will be able to figure it out.  It could be something just really unusual, but not threatening to the baby.  When I had my large bleeding I was told I was miscarrying.  I drove 500 miles to see my former perinatologist and he figured it out just by looking at the u/s.  He said it was called pelvic incarceration and everything was fine.  I hope all goes well for you and keep us posted.
